I hope you guys are going to use the OcUK servers :p

If you're in a lobby, the lobby leader can type "sv_search_key ocuk" into the console to make sure the lobby connects to an OcUK server.

Yeah use the OcUK servers. We had a game last night was really good fun and fair....

...Up to the point where Opul/Delvis abused his admin powers and spawned a tank on BH5 as my team were survivors taking on the horde. Thanks for that mate, good game perfectly ruined.
 
<3 l4d got my own server BEST THING about it is when you go to play on it and they decide to vote me off my own server... so wait till there about to complete there game and kick them all :)

yeah :( hated it... well lets hope delvis/opul wont do that again :)

i think your being a little unfair on OPUL,

he only did it coz the director did not spawnthe other team a tank all game, while the other had a tank.

plus your failing to notice that the he immediatley spawned your team a tank to make up for it.

so if you gonna have a go, then quote all of the relevant facted, from you post your making it sound like, he favoured one team over another.

you just ahve sour grapes coz we managed to shoot both your tanks down, while ours pwned your team

Thanks for the more complete information.

I'm glad to hear it really as I wouldn't like to think that someone I gave admin to would mess around with the game balance.

Thats fine, maybe in hindsight Opul should not have spawned the tank,

but he did it fairly for both teams.

and in fact the game was not fuined, the wwinning team only won by a handfull of points, which would not be the case if he has messed around too much

That is the way the game is. If I recall out of all 4 maps before the finale 1 tank was spawned. It does suck if the Director gives one team a tank on a map and not the other. It's also a bit different when the Director spawns the tank in game to an admin spawning one, without warning, whilst half the team have been boomered.

We didn't get an extra tank on that last map. We had two which is normal for the finale event.

The facts were correct. I'd prefer the game to be played the way it is (which does suck sometimes) and have the Director make the decisions than having admins take it into their own hands at bias moments in the game.

I don't care if I win or lose in game, as long as it's played fairly. I don't want this to turn into a man hunt or a whine fest towards opul. I guess he thought he was doing what was best but in my opinion spawning a tank 20 seconds into starting the event whilst dealing with boomer and horde wasn't exactly giving us a fair chance.

Anyway, point made/moan over. Let's get back to some decent gaming.
 
mango wtf?!?!? :/ opul spawned the tank in the midle of the horde there was no way we can defend our selfes and how is that fair that admin spawns a tank when he feels it's not fair that they didn't get one :/ ? opul knows him self that it's a game glitch and is not our fault that they didn't get 1 tank on the 2nd level.. i wont be playing anymore on ocuk servers only cos of this.. :/ opul im not compailing about what you did we talked yesterday.. but if mango backs you up with this i dont want it to happen again... because it obviously was not fair! mango you would say the same thing if you were on our team..
 
Well, as mango and knubje said, it perhaps was not the best decision given hindsight. I'm sure Opul will think twice before doing it again.

I can't really comment too much on it as I wasn't there, but Opul has generally seemed to be a pretty sound guy so far so I don't see any reasons to take things further unless this starts to become a regular event.

it was only once and opul is ok.. as i've said i talked with him after the game yesterday and im sure he wont do that again.. cos he understands he was not fair at the moment but nothing he could do after the spawn :) just leave it as it is now :) till someone else ruins the game again ;) :P

I'm with all you guys, opul is a good player and seems a nice guy. Probably a moment of madness but I felt let down a bit by it all.

It was my first time on the OcUK server so it left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth after it all finished. Let's hope nothing like this happens again and move on!

That is indeed easiest but unfortunately when I created my account I selected an incredibly dull username :) so I won't be using it. Strange though as I just searched myself ([OcUK]MDK) and it came up straight away.
