***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Im at the verge of giving up on the game. I love co-op games and this is a brilliant one, so satisfying when done right but also some funny moments. Theres too many dumbasses, I'm shooting something yet they still run in front of me, theres one zombie running infront of me which I will kill yet someone behind me blasts it with a shotgun taking off 50 health and then the folk you think they can take on a tank instead of just running and letting it burn which means we reduce our team firepower by a quarter.

Its not a race ffs!

Have you added some of us to your friends list. I barely play public games anymore unless i need to fill a few minutes before a main game.

Yeah as usual again you can count me in!

It was a good game and was made more comical by the Zombie Girl saga on our team.

Also how I kept getting burnt to death by my own team!
 
Haven't been able to play recently due to me burning two of my fingers last week still having to change the dressings twice a day atm and can barely move them when they are wrapped up : (
 
OcUK 6 Update

New plugins installed:
-Display Damage Given Plugin. This displays damage given to other team as it is being done. This should act as some kind of fix for the fact there is no scoreboard for all 16 players.
-New Infected spawn system (in line with OcUK 7)
-Snarespeak (Now infected can taunt their victims)
-Updated Infected Vs Bots Plugin. http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=893938#post893938 - Should mean I can upt the infected max number to 8, allowing for 8v8 to be started with less than 16 players. Note that I have set it to allow hunter and smoker bots only, boomer is player controlled and will have no bots.

I may upt the general infected health and damage that they can give, as well as introducing a melee fatigue removal plugin if people think that may work. We'll see however.

OcUK 6 (8v8 server) has the custom campaign, Death Aboard installed on it now, which I may start rolling at some point.

Hope that your fingers heal soon Lag :)

Had some fun 8v8 games but why is it that nearly everytime the level changes I end up stuck in spectator mode?

The jointeam 2 and 3 commands or pressing M do not work very often and both teams show full. :confused:

Only way to get back in to a side is leave and rejoin and then I quite often end up on the opposing team.
Also this is risky due to the fact if someone is on auto-join you can't get back in!
 
Just got the 'nothing special' achievement \o/. OMG my hearts still pounding from the finale. I was sure we would get hit by a rock from tank or my game would crash at the last minute.

Tried it with 3 bots but one of them got hit by a rock in the finale. It was much easier with 3 teammates, especially for taking down the tank before it could hit us. Saying that though, I hope i never have to do it again as my heart felt like it was going to explode when the truck came lol.

Sooo glad that is out of the way, now i can concentrate on the expert campaigns.

please don't add melee removal Link, sure it sucks when your melee runs low, but this is why your team mates should pick off the zombies for you.


the snare speak and the infected spawn (press E to jump between spawn locations, based on where survivors are) are awesome

The map editor is surprisingly easy (and addictive). Every time I think about loading up L4D, I end up loading the editing software instead.

I have to admit though, when I was just messing about, it was much more difficult to think about what I was gonna do when I had no basic plan. Then my other half walked in and started nosing about and before long she was sitting next to me saying, "make that bit bigger so the zombies can get them easier" and "why are you putting health packs in, that makes life too easy for the good guys"... basically, she wanted me to make a map which was a total nightmare for players :D hehehe....so that's what I'm doing!
 
She also made me take out all the weapons at the start, hehe :)

I started off nice and small; compact, even. Then she ruined it all by nagging me until I had this huge parking lot across which the survivors have to dash - she doesn't realise that more walls mean more details! Argh! I better go, she'll be wondering why I haven't finished the pavement by the time she's back :(

Totally agree , spamming melee in a corner just makes it far to easy , which is why they added fatigue in the first place.

Keep melee fatigue please.

Another vote for keeping melee fatigue. Balance is pretty good right now , that would just make it to easy for the survivors again.
 
Guys, whats going on with the server list. Every time i click on play online, it shows only 3 maximum rooms in lobby browser any time of the day ?

is there any trick / command to enable larger lobby search ?

is L4D lobby browser = broken ?
