*** Offical Monopoly City Streets Thread ***

Just logged in on an account (not that I have that many) who I hadn't checked yet today. A road with £1m interest had been hazarded this morning. Looking at the rent earned I think that I have had rent on that road. However given the odd rent figures some people have been getting I cannot be 100% sure.

EDIT:-

Just checked another account and I think that you are right. On that account one of my main roads was sabbotaged and I did loose out on rent!

You can not win in this game! If you don't log in you could loose money but if you do you may get too high on the leaderboard and attract too much attention! ;)

I get that many well more than that every day. More houses you buy, the more cards you get. Buy a hundred houses and you will probably get 5-10 cards.

They are all very quick succession though, I've not had them that quick, I've had lots mind.

He's shafted now though, a few hazards on his main earners and one on each of his smaller ones...that'll teach him. :D

Tonight's pay will be going into small houses to get bulldozers and Bonus buildings to fix up my broken streets. :)

Depends what you mean by "clan". A few of has have been working together (combining demo and hazard cards to target enemies) as well as securing the same regions, and I think some of us will be using an OCUK prefix to help associate/quickly tell who's who.

So how many 1m roads are you buying after the reset? 1, 2 or 3?

I cannot see any point in buying smaller roads.

Buying one will obviously allow you to get a lot of rent to buy more roads but will probably get you sabbotaged.

Two seems like a ballance, split the remaining million between the two with green houses, so day two you get 2.2m in to buy another road and more houses.

Or.

Buy three roads and stay right off the radar for a bit playing the long game?

All happened today. Wish I didnt hit the top of my random Highland leaderboard. Luckily still got 5million to spend on buildings and hopfully get some bulldozers and parks etc.
 
Unlucky Mahnsikir :/. I know how it feels - I've been the top of Bristol past two days and every sod and sod's son has been raping me, despite all my roads being in Nassau :rolleyes:
 
All you need to do is make sure that your first road is a 1m street that is 10 miles away from any other road!! Unfortunately I haven't found one yet!
 
Hmm thats a good idea, may try and find a lonely road someplace.

Im actually better now (in rent terms) than I was yesterday, managed to unhazzard my three biggest roads by just buying loads of cheap houses to get lots of chance cards. Still got £500,000 left off in case I get attacked in the last hour before 1am.

I've found a few nice spots, spent an hour or two looking tonight while the football was on. Going to try nab a spot on Nassau and a lonely road out in the sticks. :)
 
I was wrong!

When we launched MONOPOLY City Streets last week, we were thrilled that so many of you wanted to try your hand at global real estate domination. As many of you experienced, the initial rush led to slower servers, which in turn resulted in compromised data. You may have also discovered a few bugs while you’ve been getting to know the game and we’ve been hard at work to fix those problems.

To prepare for the restart, we will be taking down the game on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 at 15:00 GMT. We anticipate that the game will be down for 12 to 24 hours as we reset and test the game. When the site comes back live, the game will restart.

But, we’re not just restarting the game. We’ve made some improvements to the gameplay that we think address many of the concerns that you have brought to our attention while you played the game. We will provide additional details about these changes soon.

This restart does mean that everyone will be starting over with $3 million to spend and will need to register again.

Thank you all for your awesome support in the last few days. We appreciate all of the input, suggestions and most of all your patience.

Oh well, talk about vague on re-onpening times, wonder if they will give any indication on the blog/twitter.

No word yet on rule changes.
