*** Offical Monopoly City Streets Thread ***

Err surely they both go hand in hand, when you have high worth, you get a lot of rent and a big bank balance.

Not at all. If someone sabotages a high earning road you'll get minimal money back but still have a high worth. :)

Which is why I got 11m last night and not 20m. :p

So it depends on the street? I have to start again and check on a £1million street..

edit:
ok so..with guessed cone sizes:

Code:
£1million Street
Cost Rent	Ratio	Footprint (Rent per cone) (Cost/Ratio p/c) (value of 25 cones)
2800000	1100000	2.55	3	366667	7.64	[COLOR="red"]9166667[/COLOR]
2000000	950000	2.11	3	316667	6.32	[COLOR="red"]7916667[/COLOR]
1500000	850000	1.76	3	283333	5.29	[COLOR="red"]7083333[/COLOR]
1100000	750000	1.47	3	250000	4.40	[COLOR="red"]6250000[/COLOR]
900000	650000	1.38	3	216667	4.15	[COLOR="Red"]5416667[/COLOR]
750000	550000	1.36	3	183333	4.09	4583333
600000	500000	1.20	3	166667	3.60	4166667
500000	450000	1.11	3	150000	3.33	3750000
400000	350000	1.14	2	175000	2.29	[COLOR="red"]4375000[/COLOR]
300000	270000	1.11	2	135000	2.22	3375000
200000	175000	1.14	2	87500	2.29	2187500
175000	150000	1.17	2	75000	2.33	1875000
150000	125000	1.20	2	62500	2.40	1562500
75000	75000	1.00	1	75000	1.00	[COLOR="red"]1875000[/COLOR]
50000	50000	1.00	1	50000	1.00	1250000

hmm I know mathematically there is a way to work this out, Im just too tired (and obviously bored! durr)

So it turns out the 75000, 400000 and 900000 (any building upwards thereafter) value buildings are the best relative bets? (looking at incremental ratio jumps/value) Early Game Strategy go for 75k buildings to get best ROI, then 400k, then 900k+..

To be honest, I don't think there's much strategy to it. If you've got a building on every cone then the best building to have will be the $100m Monopoly Tower. It's not complex maths so I'm pretty sure the game devs will have made it better to have a few high worth buildings than a hundred low ones. Essentially it comes down to how much money you've got and how risky you want to be with your brand new shiny $50m building getting bulldozed.

2 fine cards, one after the other.

First for 6m and the second for 2m.

I really don't want to spend anything - I just know my $60m is going to get zapped.

I have £12m left from the £24m I got when I logged in. Bought a couple of small roads and filled one with Green Houses. Bid on a couple of other streets I want. Have practically wiped one poor local guy from the game in the last few days. :p

By your argument if you were valued at say, 500 million and the fines got exponentially higher depending on worth, there could come a point when you are in negative figures (if for example all of your roads were sabotaged) - Im sure the game does not do this. Its obviously relative to your bank balance.

I have just been having a look at the roads I own (ready to buy the best back after reset). I have to say that finding an actual road is really hard.

I know that you search for it and the map centres in on it. Very often you click buy available roads and there it is. However, some of the best (as in long 1m roads) do not show on the list and you have to move around quite a bit to find them. One of my favourite roads is a cycleway which I found by accident. I'll be buggered if I can find it again now! I though this was as I was logging in as the owner but I noticed that my main competitor has bought the extension of the cyclepath which is 2 or 3 times longer! I have been up and down that section of path (not shown on the map as it is not a road) and cannot find the specific purchase point.

Having considered it a bit more maybe the super long 1m roads are not that good as they will be sabottaged a lot.

It could be relative to your worth, but capped by your bank balance. They're different things :).

Well, with my spare accounts I've been trying tactics.

I've been buying one road, filling it with small houses, then when it's full, buying another and doing the same. This means any Bonus buildings I get, I stick on the road I'm currently building on, so one of my 1m roads has 5 bonus buildings on it...have fun sabotaging that one fully. :D

I can't find any streets worth buying. :(

Yep, after a week it takes some doing to find 1m roads, it will be this search that will take up most of the time in the game as you need a large portfilio to spread the risk if hazards.

This game has been live for a week now and it is starting to feel stale - maybe that is because of the restart.

By the look of it it will take hours and luck to find any streets worth buying after a week and I do not think I have the time for it.:(

Yeah,I regularly have two or three bonuses demolished, five is probably right!

nah your searching the wrong way.

Search for random road names, and you will find 1mill roads with surrounding smaller ones you can buy.

For example I have been searching for my name...with way, place, street, road at the end. Found a few nice places.

Just found a place in the middle of nowhere with 4 1m roads, looking on Google maps they are all over 3 miles long being twice as long as any of my 1m roads at the moment!

Africa and Asia also have a huge number of available $1m roads, it's just a little tricky as most of the smaller roads aren't listed, does mean you get huge roads miles from anywhere though. What's this 10 miles thing?

Well got my startegy and my starting streets. Roll on the restart.

Still millions of £1million streets available. Just don't search what everyone else is searching.

anyone else noticed that when you click on 'buy streets', then select a street, sometimes it's not actually a street, but an open area? For example i clicked on a road, the map then moved across as if it was going to take me to it's location, but it ended up displaying an open area. I bought the 'road' anyway just to see if it was some kind of hack that i could turn to my advantage, but i couldn't do much with it as i was unable to build any property. In the end i sold it as i could only make teh basic rent the street gives without any property on it. Also, on some of my roads when i build property, the property isn't actually located on the street but somewhere else.

On the whole the games pretty addictive really. 2nd on my local leaderboard with a score of 38 million.
