***** Official 2014 BBQ Thread - Sun is out, time to grill!! *****

BBQ wok, wok with loads of holes drilled in it. Shop veg, oil, flavour with what every her bs/spices you want.

Potatoes can be wrapped in foil and put on the coals. Can even apple core them and stick cheese and other things in the whole, before plugging it back up.

Corn on the cob. Get it with leafs on and the leafs protect it.

Aubergine just like brushing with olive oil then grilling.
Asparagus just grill

Etc

This one looks good, due to small handles. I hate BBQ pans, they all have stupid large handles on. Yeah as that's what you want on a BBQ, whish I could afford to prototype a range off BBQ cookware, and stick it on kickstarter. First thing would be tiny handles.

If it touched the ground then it would get snails and stuff inside. If you are worried about it somehow blowing off or whatever your reason for wanting tie down pegs is, then just tie it together under the bowl of the bbq. Can't see the problem myself

Not quite as grand as some but we decided we needed a BBQ for camping and chucking in the back of the car for days out so after some searching around I picked up a Cadac safari chef yesterday with pizza stone.

Last night I threw on a asda fresh pizza on it for my son, 10 mins warm up and 10 mins with the pizza in and it was perfect .... Better than in our normal oven in fact.

Today I was doing my breakfast and rather than grill my sausages I decided I may was well get the BBQ out again as its so quick and easy, anyway some pics

The Cadac's are amazing. They're practically a staple of South African braai culture. We used to take our Skottel to the beach, on holiday, you name it it'd come with us. There's nothing like going to the beach early morning and having a breakfast cooked on the Skottel first thing whilst looking out at the gently crashing ocean waves :) Ah good times :)

I must admit im amazed at how versatile it is and so easy to set up, im going to use it again tonight where as the big BBQ always feels like its a chore getting it ready.

We are planning to go to an air show in a few weeks time and ill just chuck it in the boot of the car and be the envy of everyone eating their cheese sandwiches as we fire up the BBQ :)

Did some simple chicken tikka kebabs tonight ....in the rain.

As this cadac BBQ is mainly for us to take camping I'm trying quick simple meals we can do while on holiday.

Bloody rain :)

Served with pilau rice, pitta bread and a raita dip, was very nice as well ;)

Got a 2.4 Kilo pork shoulder and 2 racks of ribs to do tomorrow in the smoker! Not certain, but I reckon it should take 9 to 10 hours to do the shoulder.

Hehe it's gonna be all go in this thread this weekend! I picked up a 4kg pork butt this afternoon to do on Sunday. Gonna put a BBQ rub on it and then run the smoker at about 250F for 12 hours and see how it turns out :)

No picture of the finished ribs as they went in about 5 seconds... Nom nom.

The pulled pork is just finishing off now. I'm a bit too full to eat it but the tiny bit I broke off to 'test' was awesome.
