Do they work well enough that you can pick up coals briefly? That would be pro given the price.
I actually haven't tried that, I might see if I'm brave enough to give that a go this weekend. If I can still type properly, I'll report back!

How do you all light your chimney starters i have been using two fire lighters in the bottom or a piece of paper, but i find it lights the bottom bits of charcoal and takes so long to reach the top that the bottom bits have all but burnt out.
I tend to put a fair bit of extra paper with it and/or some scrap bits of wood. Tbh I find sometimes I have to light it more than once in order to get the majority of coals to light up in time.
I think it's normal for the bottom coals to be more pwn'd than the rest though.
You can pick up coals with welding gloves. Or at least the ones I use.
None of that issue, get good ones. Well they cost more for most peoplecan't remover what the name is I get cheap ones which heat soon penetrates and good ones. Grey with a brand name which are far superior and you don't heed to be a huge rush with.
Good man![]()

They don't seem much more expensive tbh. So much better than the orange cheaper ones we use, which let heat through.
They will still get toasty but takes a longer time.
These look like the useless ones we use, which are absolutely terrible

Good choice, I do love a good boerewors, denser than most sausages with a great taste. Mmmmm.
In need of some vegetable ideas for the BBQ. Meat, I have pretty well covered but looking for variety in veg. Usually go with asparagus, corn, courgette or peppers but starting to get a little bored.
