Quite, unfortunately armchair fans will always have their, never are they wrong , opinions. Some it seems more ridiculous than others.
Perhaps if they actually drove an f1 car then maybe they'd be different.

How would you define an armchair F1 fan then? Do we have to have driven an F1 car to have an opinion on what is best for the sport? What is a true F1 fan? Someone that shares the same opinions as you?

I thought this was interesting: estimated damage costs per driver so far after Austria. It's a bit too big to inline here, so I'll leave it as a link. Alpine and Ferrari well ahead on damage costs so far, Alfa Romeo the lowest so far with Zhou impressively damage free. I thought it was notable too that Logan and Piastri have both had less damage than their teammates - so much for the costly rookie stereotype - and even De Vries, who I had down as king of crashes is only about 10% more costly than his teammate.

Feels like there have been fewer out and out "car wrecks" so far this year, mainly just damage to pieces so far

Why not just let them all run a bit further out? If it's same for everyone it doesn't matter?

Or give a harsher penalty.
5 seconds after 3 infringements. Every infringement
