and utilising their hards up, used to be able to take a good guess at their level of confidence with how they used the tyres in the past, although sprint race changes weekend plans somewhat. 3 slow laps for verstappen in between runs!

I'd rather F1 had less periods of domination by particular teams or drivers. It doesn't matter which team or driver it is, it's always better when it is a fight. The Mercedes domination was mostly less boring than this era because there was a fight for the WDC - whether it was Nico or Seb, Hamilton didn't just walk away with it - apart from '19 and '20, that is. And, I guess, because they came at the end they stick in the memory more. Even in Seb's four year run, 2010 was an incredibly tense and close year and 2012 was a close fought battle between Alonso and Seb. But the boring dominations of '11 and '13 stick in the memory.

This year and last have been single driver/team domination on a level rarely seen. Hopefully, Mercedes and Ferrari and maybe Aston can bring it to Red Bull next year.

Rosberg and Hamilton was 100x more interesting than this.
If max had a truly competitive team mate it would be so much better.

But it makes sense for teams to have an A&B driver.
