I've been watching since the mid-late 90's and its telling that I could probably name my top 8-10 races from then until now.

F1 has always been about 60% awful, 30% decent and 10% great in terms of how races turn out.

I still love the sport but it’s complete inability to create genuinely close racing at the front makes it hard to take it that serious as a competitive sport, especially when half the drivers aren’t even that talented due to motorsports pitifully small talent pool of rich kids.

Same. F1 and cutting the grass on a sunday is more like religious ceremony than edge of your seat action tbh. You do get some good bits in every race usually.
