Just realised how mega close 2-7 is. Only separated by 2.5 tenths .

Race should therefore be quite interesting. If Mercs race pace leapfrogs McLaren's and Ferraris like it has done in quite a few times this season, they might actually be in with a shout of a podium.

Mclaren second best team now?
Great driver pair too. Piastri did well to escape alpine by looks of it.

Alpine falling away. Pretty poor performance there.

Perez... Oh dear!

if AR can't prove that enough of a sample is able to be taken from the car then i'd say yes its a DSQ from Quali. The tricky part is he stopped on track so the stewards are calculating 1 litres plus X to account for getting back to the pits = 2.39 litres needs to be available in the car. i'd argue that they need to be able to take 1 litre the rule doesn't say 1 litre plus running fuel... but we'll see.

You have to make it back to the pits under your own power. If not, you need to have the fuel available to make it back to the pits as well as the litre sample.

All due to drivers stopping on track with critical fuel on the cool down lap during quali. They implemented this a few years ago. They're also not allowed to dismantle the car to get the fuel out either.
