Special shoutout to the Mercedes socials admin again he’s/she’s clearly having fun eg using Hunger Games intro to the driver introductions the other day, and a little Curb Your Enthusiasm music to the end of FP1 :p

Can’t believe Sainz is being double/triple punished this weekend. What a joke of an event. Car absolutely destroyed, money urinated away to replace it, 10 place grid penalty.
I truly hope we don’t see any more American races on the calendar, and lose at least one for next year.

That Sainz penalty is stupid.

Don't see why everyone is expecting Toto to take the high road after 2021 though. A ferrari penalty benefits them in securing 2nd in the constructors.

He's just learning from the best... (Marko, Horner etc).
Anyone who complains about team principals trying to get every advantage for their team, whether it's "fair" or not, is just hilarious.

the penalty may or may not be stupid but the rules don't allow for a derogation in this instance, is it fair that when a hole cover lifts and destroys a car no but i don't recall any other time where parts had to be replaced due to track debris damage and a grid penalty was avoided when it was outside of the pool parts.

Yeah, I think the rules need looking at, but they are what they are.

I think its just unlucky that its never done as much damage as it has done here AFAIK anyway, unless anyone can provide information about Grosjeans crash and if the engine/gearbox was ruined?
