Russell was slower than Hamilton in every stint when they were both in clean air. He also gained four or five seconds from pitting a little earlier for the softs on the final stint.

They both did well but Hamilton had the superior pace and performance this weekend.

From where he started I'll give it to Russell but that's only my opinion and it's called driver of the day

All true, but I'm still giving it to the guy who fought back nine places. Russell just had the harder job; entirely his own fault for a bad quali, but DotD is of the day not the weekend.

Russell seems to have a habit of toasting his tyres early. He was less than 5 seconds behind Lewis for a while after Lewis had pitted. Seems like a lewis was taking it easy for a while after his pit to protect the tyres. Then at one point near the end of the race, Russell was nearly 10 seconds behind (ended up 8 and a half by the end as I think Lewis backed off on the last lap).

Russell had a good race though. His good start helped him beat Perez to third.

Good day for Merc..they comfortably looked like the 2nd fastest race car today.

Don't know what has happened to Ferrari, and Aston seemed to take a step back in the pecking order too. Genuinely shocked Leclerc didn't even make it into the points.

Perez should have been on the podium in that car.

Norris really ****** up his race. Bit of a silly place to put his nose in turn 2 on the first lap. Though the car looked so dog slow in the race it may not have madeuch difference!

I do find it interesting how close the field is in qualifying, compared with how far away from each other they are in race pace..

Ferrari seem to be going backwards development not progressing?
Yeah, im a bit nonplussed by it, they were looking so good, and two great drivers imo? If Merc have sorted the cars the last thing we want is Fezza also rans, at least AM give us the hope it aint gonna be a RB whitewash.

Seems more incompetent strategy than anything else. What were they doing with Leclerc today? Carlos was ahead of the Astons

Looking past the strategy the car itself doesn't look like it's progressing and it's probably the worst with bouncing also struggles with tire deg more

We'll see in Canada, a number of teams underperformed over the weekend, and some were faster over a single lap than they were in the race. Barcelona may well have been a one-off.

That is the difference between coming out the pits in clean air, and coming out behind and having to overtake your rivals on track.

P2 was gone as soon as they put him on the mediums.

I'd have liked to seen Mercedes try the one stop with Russell. Based on how long they were able to keep a soft alive, it should have been possible with a hard.
