Exactly. Can’t watch the above video yet but interested. How much fight do you realistically expect from someone who got closed down at near enough a second a lap? He was only keep Lewis behind if he did something stupid really.
Can’t see how they’ve wasted their money when they’re going to make it hand over fist with sponsorship, swag etc. Will see what happens next year but Ferrari probably wasted their money.
Hard tyres versus mediums, there was only going to be one result. Russell could have opened up that corner but anyone with common sense would have known the faster car with more grip would be able to do this. Lewis was able to brake later and accelerate earlier. There was no point in trying to defend and it wasn't the first car to do that in the race.Lewis last lap analysed. This was racing. George did not give him anything.
Quite...I don't think Ferrari are thinking of Lewis as a long term option anyway. They expect him to drive for two or three years whilst Bearman gains some experience before being brought into the fold - or if he doesn't impress - whichever the best driver available is. They're Ferrari, they won't struggle to attract a driver, and they've already got a top tier driver in Leclerc.
In the meantime they get an incredible depth of experience, an internationally high profile sports start to advertise with, and - even if Lewis isn't quite as good as he was - one of the better drivers on the grid.
So you're saying that if Charles is faster than Lewis, they will replace Lewis with an 8 time champion from some other sport? Weird suggestion but this is Ferrari we're talking about.Worst case scenario Leclerc is obviously faster than Lewis, and he’ll then end up with an 8 time champion as his wingman which would greatly enhance his own chances of winning the WDC.
I have every respect for Lewis and his achievements but what has that got to do with what was a easy overtake? I've watched Lewis for all of his career and he has no peers in what he has done both on and off the track and one overtake doesn't change my opinion of him.I voted the race a 5, because again, as an out and out race I don't think it delivered. I did enjoy it however just due to the constructors interest going down to the final race and the last Merc/Lewis race.
I see the Lewis haters club are out in force in this thread. The guy has had a tough year, comes back from 16th to 4th with a final lap overtake and then gets some TV coverage due to one of the most successful sporting partnerships in history - let alone F1 - and a couple of nice burnouts. Then you get people in here posting that the overtake on George was nothing due to the tyre offset. Maybe give the GOAT some respect?
Lovely to see the sportsmanship between Ferrari and Mclaren.

Ridiculous response...
Its rules like that, that need binnng off. Its a test let them run whatever they like.Interesting tidbit in The Race's race rankings that I hadn't picked up: Russell was running an experimental suspension set up so that it was eligible for them to run in tomorrow's Post-season test.
