I see Verstappen's penalty made a world of difference
Honestly he should've received a stop-and-go for punting someone off the track and completely ruining their race like that.
It's unlikely to work, but maybe the next evolution in the F1 punishments should be to look at repeat offences across the year and take them into account. Not in that very race but maybe if someone shows form for a particularly manoeuvre, they look at that outside of the race and affect a punishment for the next one. Yes, they don't take the outcome into account when giving out penalties (officially), but he nearly lost McLaren the WCC right there on turn one with a move that looked more in keeping with someone like a Sargeant or Colapinto at the back of the grid. Piastri's comment speaks volumes about what he thinks of Max's driving. If he was just ****ed off he would have just said something like "wtf" :p
Max needs to give his head a wobble before 2025 season starts.
I think a lot of people would like to see the constructors line-up much like they did today. McLaren and Ferrari fighting at the front, Mercedes and RB nipping at them. It'd be great racing.

Red Bull will need a change in their driver line up before they can start to think about the constructors championship again.

Haha, that Leclerc radio. I always get the impression he doesn’t like his engineer.
Agreed. It'll be interesting to see if this is still the case next year with Hamilton joining. I can't imagine he hasn't noticed, as most fans have, that Ferrari's pit wall is absolutely atrocious for giving useful information to their drivers. It's a real shame Bono isn't moving teams too, but also completely understandable.

And coming up on the podium, after winning the race and constructors championship they get the lovely treat of warm rose water.
Which seems odd when they kept showing shots from the VIP lounge with glasses of wine and beers. I'm *really* sure they were all 'fizzy apple' juice and '0% Heineken'...

Dang I thought the race started at 2, so missed the first half
God knows what Max was playing at, then called stewards stupid….
Utter classless.
Also Max has 8 penalty points on his license, and don’t expire until June….
Given Red Bull can’t go Year 5 winning, he’s gonna get more heated.

On the other side, Ferrari congratulating McLaren - that’s class
Red Bull take note!

Did have flashbacks of 2021 when they mentioned late safety car because of debris

Roll on 2025!
Just please not Max or Red Bull

Alcohol can be sold in bars and restaurants in Abu Dhabi. It's not dry.

Saw a load of exotic /scantily clad dancers in one shot of the build up too.

The place seems pretty liberal which is surprising. Or is it all just for show for F1/international sports.

At all the bars at the track it says "any local residents or people in traditional middle eastern garments will be refused alcohol

Missed the race, just caught up with the highlights and some post race stuff.

Some of those incidents had a bit of the 'last day of term' feel, shame it all seemed to pretty end poorly for most of the 'last race' drivers.

Happy for Mclaren, they deserve it after all their efforts and turn around from a few years ago.

First turn was just typical lolmax.

I did this too. So annoyed, was looking forward to the Hamilton/Mercedes build up stuff :( Goad I’m not the only one confused by a 1pm start!
Interestingly, Norris is (just) favourite for the 2025 title..
Worryingly Rosberg has said a few things I’ve agreed with recently :o He was saying how Norris has proved this year that he holds the natural pace over Piastri, whereas Piastri might be a little more consistent. So the thing is, you can learn consistency but you can’t learn raw, natural talent and pace. Especially considering the pressure Norris was in in those last laps, it looks like he drove a perfect race. The confidence he’s going to get from winning McLaren the WCC should be massive. He still needs to learn to stand up to Max but if they’re fighting 50/50 contests next year then Max will do Max things I’m sure - and Lando will know from the start that he’s in with a shot for the WDC and hopefully will take none of that nonsense.

(But I still want Lewis to win next year, we all need that righteousness in the world :o )

Hopefully not, would rather see Charles win - that would be a big moment with Ferrari. They’ve had strong showings but they’ll need more consistency to see him win.

OK race. Not worst. Not the best.

Gasley has driven well these last few races.

Little bit tired of all the Hamilton attention. He's only moving teams.. And that's his choice.

Piastri would be my choice.
Well this is what bet365 have priced up currently:

Norris 7/4
Verstappen 9/4
Leclerc 9/2
Piastri 8/1
Hamilton 8/1
Russell 20/1
Antonelli 66/1

I'd go with Piastri too personally.
