Faster than Max's pole time. I wonder how much of the difference in those laps was down to getting a tow or not; we saw Max get a tow from Piastri on his final lap, did Leclerc get one in Q2 to set that time?
I think the issue was Charles went slower.
Today will be interesting but it looks like on race pace the Red Bull's are quicker and it'll be interesting to see if their drs system is as strong as it was last year. It remains to be seen whether Ferrari have resolved their tyre degradation issues they suffered from last year. The Mclaren's race pace is also good but it will be very entertaining to watch Lewis attempts to come up the field. Unfortunately he made an error with his setup and went to far towards a race setup, but he'll be strong as always.
Let's hope Russell doesn't try too hard and think the race can be won at the first corner.
Alonso is a dark horse in all this and could be a thorn in the front runners side, particularly Lewis's.
Tyre degradation will be a factor for all the drivers at this circuit and, if it is, the windy conditions might also play it's part. I forsee a few black and white flags for off track excursions.

Alonso is always a dark horse, but I don't think this year's Aston is up to it. I'm expecting him to go backwards during the race, but it'd be a pleasant surprise if he can compete again.

Feels like another Newey masterclass again this season but hope I’m wrong.
It’s crazy that the car is still so good despite the sweeping design changes that have been made to it. That man must have built in wind tunnel vision or something where he can picture the effects of air flow on a car. :D

The closer you drive a car to the limit, the easier it is to go over it.

Leclerc is similar for Ferrari.
I get that but my point being whenever he gets in a position of a possible pole or podium he makes errors, too many compared to other top drivers. I like him as a driver but I think he lacks consistency, still young though.

Definitely more to come from this design as the team are still adapting and fine tuning it..

He's such a canny driver though and if anyone can keep a faster car behind him, he can. Sometimes it's like he wants to tease, then eventually let them pass.

a lot of the most talented younger stock on the grid are like that, Lando, Russell and Leclerc. It will take one of them to iron that out somewhat to become a future champion and leapfrog the rest. I guess they are trying to prove themselves and show they are the fastest in their respective teams etc. This does lead often to a worse season though as Russell proved in 2023. George is very quick and has great potential but I think he got blinded by a tunnel vision of trying to beat Lewis at all costs. It made him make too many unforced errors and meant he finished way down on Lewis in the end.
