Ok Russell just admitted that ham was in the hard so that's why it was straightforward to overtake Hamilton

Yeh, that much was obvious.

For Lewis's race , he got unlucky that he didn't do the same strat as George when they all switched to slicks. He was quick on the mediums but the second safety car nullfied any advantage he gained from the mediums. That meant with 10 laps to go, he had to go onto the slowest tyre which is not ideal.

Surprised he had no mediums left. Where did they go : confused: . Presumably in practice.

Great race.

The noobs getting placed at the back
Sargent, perez, Zhou. All doing poorly.
Especially perez and Sargent. They are both so bad.
Unlucky for albon.

Wondered if Ocon was gonna have a punt at gasley on that last lap!

10/10 for me.

Did find it weird how mclaren didn't work together at the end to give piastri Drs to the end.

Russell blew that a bit. Should have been 2nd at worst.

Oh yeah dire day for ferrari and verstappen just doing what's needed. Showing his credentials there.

Great race

One thing I've noticed with Lewis is that his DRS never seems to give him much oomph.

When DRS came on, he was still stuck behind Alonso even though he was often within a few tenths.

They showed him trying when he was mega close at the start of the straight and he still couldn't do it.

Others seemed to breeze by people with DRS when they were equally as close.

I'm sure this happens quite often with Lewis and it's odd. Does he perhaps setup his car with very little top speed/too much drag and down force all the time?

The more I think about it, the more I think McLaren cost Norris a win. Ah well, 2nd is decent enough.

Any chance of a challenge to Max from the other teams improving seems slim though as they distribute the points among multiple drivers.

Pérez had an absolute mare, but at least a 3 place drop won't effect him much...

I was half hoping Max was going to stuff it into the wall at the end and we would've had three Brits on the podium :D
I was really expecting him to go for fastest lap at the end. If he had, well yes we were all hoping.

Agreed about the points stuff. McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes are all going to take points of each other and nullify any challenge to the WDC I reckon. I still don’t like these regs. You get the fastest car on one track (Monaco) that then goes P11 in the next one. So random.
