"But muh Silverstone!"

That was nothing compared to the multiple egregious **** Max pulled throughout that season.
There are so many instances of Lewis driving into people, especially since he doesn't start in pole anymore and has to actually race people. He uses the same mirrors as Stroll.

It was a joke for a long time how strong the Merc was built because he'd take people out of the race and the car would suffer no damage. Spa, Monza, Austria as some good examples.

Max has never driven someone into a wall at 200mph.

Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most.
I guess if you don't watch the races then it's hard to accept. The front suspension on that car is built like a tank (see below).

Wasn't Horner heard saying it's a 1+1 contract rather than a straight 2 years? I could b wrong though.
Yea, something like that - I doubt they'd do anything this year and they aren't going to promote Yuki or Danny. No idea what the long-term plan is.

Yeah, that's what was mentioned in commentary during the race. It makes more sense that they wouldn't commit to Perez for a multi-year contract, but no sense why they wouldn't get Sainz in instead.

Oh Good, i wasn't going mad

No idea how this thread got so off topic, but unless you want me to start deleting posts and handing out holidays, I suggest you self-police from this post on and get back on topic.

So many dropped ball in the weekend!
-Ferrari not getting into Q3 Perez was in 16th. Perfect chance to catch Red Bull
-Mclaren not pitting Norris in first round. That was always going to be safety car for Sargeant
-Ferrari sticking Leclerc ON HARDS when they knew incoming wet weather (did he bin it in the end? Missed his retirement)

So after all what happened, still same inevitable result that Max won.....

Think Ferrari risked it with Charles as they didn't know that doing full reset would fix the engine issue. But yeah it was silly but they had nothing to lose.

McLaren's big mistake wasn't failing in the split second decision to pit Norris; it was pitting him after missing the free window. As we saw from the drivers who didn't pit for fresh inters; there wasn't much, if any, advantage from them. This isn't surprising, we've seen in other races that fresh inters are only better in really wet conditions and, actually, worn inters are often faster in drying conditions.

They then hung him out for a lap too long before changing to slicks, leading to him losing out to both Max and Russell.

That's what Norris implied but really it was a split second decision as he was just on the pit lane corner plus they weren't to know that he was going to be picked up by the safety car on that lap.
Just one of those things that hindsight gives us...

Not calling him in that moment, sure, but they had time to think about whether it was better to leave him out or bring him in and, at that point, they knew it would drop him to third, at least, and possibly fourth. I think they should have realised that leaving him out was the better option - for my part, I was shouting at the TV and, as you well know, I'm always right about these things ;)
