Not sure If slamming on the brakes in the situation would be safe, he was sandwiched between the McClaren and Ferrari.

Lando rule, once along side, drivers must now brake and let him past. Can see that catching on.

If the alternative is punting him off the track on purpose, then yes, brake. If the brake can’t be found, enjoy a time penalty. It’s funny how every driver other than Max and his fan club can understand this and don’t need it explaining.

I'm pretty sure both the brake and accelerator are modulated too, so just a slight bit more brake or less throttle will also significantly change the speed of a very high drag formula 1 car....Also i'd love to go karting with many of these Max fans and play by their rules, they'll soon be moaning when they're lodged in a barrier missing a shoe (some people on here will remember that reference from the old school motors kart meets).

Max braking in that scenario would be perfectly safe, the following Ferrari was a good distance behind and at no risk of hitting him if he had slowed a bit more. Also infinitely more safe than forcing other drivers off the track because you refuse to give them the room they're entitled to.

This i'm assuming is just a half arsed attempt at trolling

With the speed Max was carrying, that probably would have resulted in a lock up and an actual crash with Lando or the Ferrari. But ok.

That's fine I guess. Maybe Max should try that next time.

Maybe Max needs to maintain better control of his car if he's not able to drive within the guidelines available without crashing into the other cars around him, not really befitting someone of his supposed skill level

I struggle to remember one really great Max overtake where he hasn't just shoved it up the inside forcing the other driver off the track and hoped for the best.
Ha well said. Do Verstappen highlight reels exist on Youtube? Per my other post a few pages back I happened across a "highlights" reel of 2021 and it was literally Max forcing Lewis off track for 2mins straight. So he's done that, didn't race anyone in '22 and '23... and now we're here.

before posting this I did try to find that career defining overtake, think Hamilton Italy 2007 or Alonso 130R 2005, and the highlight overtake in most of the montages was Abu Dhabi '21 against a guy on old tyres and a few others including forcing Leclerc off a couple of times.
