So increase in ride heights will be applied if they go out when it's actually wet (wet tyres have a 10mm bigger diameter). That will make Hamilton happier that he's not hitting the ground as much.

Radar shows there's a little gap, then the same level of rain again. Yay! So they'll have to start or risk it getting too dark to do it today. They've got maybe 3 hours from right now.

You'd think with the retarmacing of the track they would have worked on the drainage. On the onboards so far you can see the new grooves in the track which does help.

But given this amount it will still take awhile.

The underrating of Norris is insane tbh, the guy is elite tier in terms of pace which is by far the most important thing in winning a title. Put him in last years Red Bull with Perez for a teammate and he wins a WDC comfortably and instantly becomes 'WDC calibre'. All you need is one full season with a dominant car and a slightly inferior teammate and you can win a WDC.

He hadn't even won a race prior to this season, it's like people expect him to be a seasoned veteran straight away when fighting at the front. Hamilton made mistakes in basically every season up until he got a dominant car.... mistakes happen, every driver makes them, some just make them less than others. It's only when you have a truly dominant car and no competition for a team mate that you can be somewhat faultless because there isn't the same level of pressure on you. I don't think Norris has made any huge glaring errors this season anyway. Hamilton in his first years fighting at the front had incidents like Montreal 2008 etc... Norris has not had a massive clanger like that yet.

He is a better natural talent than Button and Hill IMO, both of whom won WDC.

Live timing is up. ;)

Track temperature 22°C
Air temperature 18°C
Only 94% humidity. Huh....

Risk of rain for F1 Qualifying is 100% :D

Race control - Start of Qualifying will be delayed

Race control - Further update in 15:00

Putting him in an RB isn't going to make him better at starts or more aggressive in the race. Also won't stop him from hitting the wall twice in Singapore.

He's definitely one of the better drivers on the grid, but he doesn't have the same fight that Alonso, Lewis or Max have. Hell, Colapinto has more of a WDC "vibe" than Norris does.

His aggression levels in races have been mostly fine except in a few examples against Max. Most people are more cautious around Max, he's the toughest cookie to crack. The starts are a weakness but that is something that can be worked on and improved, it's not some fundamental flaw like being slow.

I agree that he perhaps doesn't have the same fight/mentality as the three drivers you mentioned but you've named three of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport. There are tons of F1 champions who are not on their level.

Pace is more important than 'vibes' and Lando has it in buckets, no reason he can't win a title or two provided he gets the car to do so and continues to improve on his weak areas.
