**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

1.175mv @ 1250 gpu
1.615mv @ 1670 mem

VRM's temp seem ok but my gpu temp hits abit under 80c load, my temps are pretty toasty as it is. Otherwise id go higher :(

Gregster is it possible to have this as a separate entry. Its my spare GTX 690 (also the worst clocker of the 3). I gave it a run on my X58 i7 975 system and it came up with a graphics score 650 points higher than it did on my X79 system.

why cant i ?

You don't really want to go over 1250mv on air. What voltage did you use for 1250MHz? I used 1200mv for 1250.

Hi Bud GZ on the OC -

What is the limiting factor on these 7950 cards ?
core clocks nicely on mine - but the memory don't make any difference to scores
from std to 1450 - where it crashes , is it just a bad set of chips on this card ?
asic is only 64.7

Lol at Kaapstads spare 690 :D

The real joke is it only managed a graphics score of 19777 on X79 but on X58 it did 20412. A couple of hundred points are down to using better drivers but where the rest came from I don't know.

The next time I read a post where someone wants to upgrade their i7 920 to something better for gaming I will remember the paragraph above and LOL.:D

My spare GTX 690 is not really that spare, I am half way though getting the bits together for another build. I have also got some 2400mhz memory comming for the build, I will put that in an X58 just for a try out to see how far I can overclock the memory.:D

As it is on a different chip/board, I will be happy to add it :)

I fried my 680 trying to push my graphic score :(. I should have listened to warnings. Oh well, live and learn I suppose.

You've all been very busy lol. Nice gfx scores by the way chaps @ pgi947, Gregster & 8pack. Also well done on the 7970 stomping that is happening AMD'ers :D.

Hopefully will be back for a few more benches soon.

7950 Rusty . I hope you're going to be taking advantage of Tri-Def 3D gaming?. I've done a fair bit of reading and it seems a waste to not give it a try if you end up staying with the 7950s. How are you finding them so far or is it too early to tell?.

How did you manage that?!

@ greggs coolant, I would advise anyone interested to pick up the new red instead of the old 'light red', as sometimes light red can be a bit too light and then you have to faff around with dye.

I would have got the stronger red but it wasn't released at the time. It looks pretty good IMO and matches the red on the mobo pretty well.

Ohhhh and Gregs not Greggs (I do not have a bakery sadly :()

I bought some light red a while back and it was a very pinky red

Lol at my typo. I suppose you do hang around in the kitchen a lot though.

I blame the phone! Pc is out of action as i need to reformat and reinstall windows. (I've broken it)

It does have a light tinge of pink at different angles tbf...I would have gone for pink if they did it :D

I do a lot of cooking also. It is basically my kitchen.

Hmm, you crash at only 1450 MHz memory? Perhaps you just have badly binned memory modules or something, generally the limiting factor is the core at 1080p, with the memory making more of a difference at higher resolutions (hence why Rusty changed his 680's for 7950's due to the higher memory bandwidth for triple screens).

Get that 3820 tuned up, on air depending on memory you should be able to break ~11500 physics, also be careful with what vcore you apply on the UD3, you can expect ~0.04v droop minimum unfortunately :(

Thanks but I'm not too worried about it at this stage. All I did was crank up the multiplier in the BIOS to x43 and leave everything else at auto being sure to keep an eye on temps and vcore. Highest I've seen on any of the cores was 62C under stress testing with vcore at 1.306v I did try using the virtual strap multiplier for the base clock to see if I could get 4.5Ghz but the system failed POST. I know that manual overclocking is the way forward but despite reading several comprehensive guides I've still failed to fully get my head around it.

What (no pun intended) do you pull at the wall Kap?

I just measured it running 3dmark11

CPU @4.9ghz

GPUs @1160ghz can boost to 1215ghz

Mem @7004mhz

Highest was on the first graphics test @1032 watts

When I finished I noticed I was only 25 points short of my best score.:D
