**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

200 points better is a nice improvement. It is cold outside tonight, so tempted to get me coat and do some benching :p

I am glad to see I am not the opnly one who gets the upgrade itch as well...It chews away at me thinking what do I need :D

I'm loosing sleep trying not to upgrade to X79.
So hard not to spend the money, but knowing Christmas is next month and no presents have been bought lol. Treat myself, give everyone £10 gift cards...or leave the PC till next gen CPUs and GPUs...

I know which one makes more sense, but it will disappoint so many people :D:D

Go X79 this xmas and you can do the same next xmas when you upgrade the CPU to a nice new IB-E one.

To help your decision bro, you know that X79 and CF/eyefinity is pretty much hit and miss? For that reason alone, I would wait and you kick my ass at our resolutions anyways, so don't rub it in more :p

Was that with all boards, i thought CF was borked on the R4E?
I was looking at the BigBangX2.

Might have to do a little more digging, that would be the decider, either that or go green.

I am not sure but I found others having the same issues with other boards. I think it is mostly shown as ROG boards purely because they are sold the most.

@8pack was wondering if you could help me out bud!! do you reckon I can get my CPU to 5.5Ghz on water chilled! and if so could you recommend me some setting please!. I know you got yours to 5.8 but that LN2, can 5.5 be done on water chilled bud!

System Spec in sig

Thanks in advance bud!

I saw in a different thread you was using 1.62v or similar for 5.2ghz if this is true I doubt any cooling will get you to 5.5ghz, Many SB-E wont do 5.5ghz at all. LN2 is no good on SB-E well temps lower then about -40 often cause a cold bugged IMC.

You need to turn off VirtuMVP for this bench result mate :)

I don't have VirtuMVP but how do you tell if someone is using it.

Edit checkout the watercooling section please gregster I have decided to go with the 800D, I can't wait for Corsair and the 900D.

His score looks fine to me with a 7970 @ 1320 core and 1875 mem. Surely VirtuMVP would have made his score much higher if it was switched on.

Yer with those clocks and virtuMVP running, I would expect at least 15K on the GPU scores. Something is amiss.

I found out how to check if Virtu is being used and it is pretty fool proof :)

I will go look right now Sir :)

New score, slightly higher as I was using the CPU at 4.5 GHz and the card was at 1260/1800.

EDIT: Ok, so I know we said about that secret way Gregster, but I was genuinely not using Virtu MVP for this run- even though it would seem the case using your method. I had Virtu MVP completely uninstalled (I rebooted after uninstalling to be sure) so I don't know why it says I was. But you can see from the speeds on the validation (which are correct at least) that they are consistent with being slightly higher than my last scores.

Well I just clicked on the validation from my first cat 12.11 score post here:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23016941&postcount=1637

and as you can see, it seems to be showing that MVP was enabled (using that method) which it was not (at the time I posted that back then, it was not showing it). I don't know what's going on now...

Any score that shows any kind of discrepency (like HD3000/4000) will not be submitted. This is my rules and anybody who does not like it, don't submit. It is the only way to allow fair scores and disable it from the BIOS if you feel you have a good card and want to submit your results.

In the scores I ran, the only time VirtuMVP showed up was when it was enabled. After uninstalling it, it never did pop into the scores. Just disable from the bios if it shows on the scores and done job :)

Yeah, but it is strange that it is now showing up even when Virtu MVP was completely uninstalled. You remember that my first 12.11 score (which I posted a link to above) did not show up HD4000 graphics when I posted it originally (which is why it was submitted to the scoreboard) but as you can see, the same validation link is now showing it. I have no idea why it is doing this.
