**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

Ah all sorted, it was indeed down to CPUZ validator, valid.candcpc.com (or something like that!).

I'm going to recreate 8 packs wall paper, only it'll be a fat homeless looking guy holding an 8500gt

I was panicking earlier when gaming in 3D and seeing artifacts every where. I went back to older drivers and rechecked...Same thing. Thought I was in for an RMA headache (water cooled strip down), so decided to try each on their own and no probs. Realised my pump was on 1.5, so upped it to 3 and turned my fans on and problem solved.

Warmer temps outside today was enough to warm the water up quite quickly.

@ UKSoldierboy, deffo go for the Lightning, fantastic card and in this thread, Lightnings for AMD and Nvidia are the top scorers. (Not sure what 7970's 8 pack is using but the 680 was a Lightning).

I have decided to w/c my other X79 rig (just the cpu this time). It was either that or taking it to bits anyway to clean all the dust out of my H100 (theres a lot). Hopefully I will get a bit more out of it.

^^You could always drop £230 of that on a 7950 and swap out your mobo and CPU with the £150 left over easing the blow. It would make more sense bud.

Indeed pal that would be the most sensible thing to do....unfortunately i really had my head set on getting a 7970, ah decisions decisions:(
Would you say it's worth getting a 7950, and then getting a FX 8350? Or would i see a bigger difference going to an I5 setup?

I'm a little confused.
I just ran Ur rounds clocks, 4.6Ghz on the 3770k instead and got 450 less graphics score, much higher combined and the about the same physics score.

The only difference i have two cards and 3 screens plugged into my top card (all disabled for 3D11)

Could it be the top card has slightly degraded, or having the second card is actually stealing bandwidth (8x @3.0, shouldn't make a blind bit of difference)
I'm going with the former answer and will better test it once i get everything stripped down....Until then, no more benchmarking :D

I know nothing of AMD CPU's sorry bud. I understand your wanting a top card like a 7970 also. I was just looking at sensible (for a change) and the 7950 is sensible.

Your choice and your budget, so only you will choose what you want my friend :)

Cheers gregster,
Tbh i think i'll stick will my original idea and get the best 7970 i can afford.
The intention was always to upgrade to intel with next months pay anyway, plus, I've never really owned "the best" card in a series, Be it it from the green or red team, so having the option to do so is nice.
Really getting into benchmarking too!
Finding it all very addictive :)
hopefully with a swap to intel and a brand new 7970 in my rig, i'll get myself into the top thirty at least.
Now to decide what 7970 to get.....

Edit- Think if i can't get the lightning then this surely has to be be second best? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-108-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938
