**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

No such options on SB-E thankfully :D

Windows re-installed, physics is now back to normal, running around 29fps/9400K at stock speeds.

Create a restore point and then back to the overclocking!

Edit: CPU and memory tuned up to 12K physics scores, CPU running at 4.88ghz, memory 2400mhz @ 11-13-11-30-1T (may manage lower but for now its taking me over the 12K barrier).

Some scores incoming this time I hope!!

Sorry bud. No MVP/Lucid allowed because some can use it and some can't so better to keep it on the same level. I know CPU scores can give a score that is massively enhanced but the Graphics scores show the GPU grunt.

Edit:

Thinking about it, it may be a good idea to do a seperate spoiler score with Lucid running. If enough interest, I will post up the results.

gregster Im done for the time being with my single HD 5970 could you please update its scores on the tables.

What I do find funny is if you go back to when the HD 5970 was first released. Then see what the reviewers were writing about them and now they are some of the slowest cards around. Reviewers love their new toys.

Scores updated bud and thanks for taking the time to do tests with several different set ups. Not a bad score with the single GPU run on the 5970 though.

Cmon, who is going to be first with the 660TI scores?

:D

Hopefully aiming towards the top 5 once I finally get my GPU block, I know I can push 5ghz out of the CPU, just not to keen on the voltages (1.51v).

Edit: Also X79 owners, I think I found what caused 3dM11 to go belly up earlier, disable Intel Management Engine in device manager, for what ever reason it hates on cpuid/sysinfo causing corruptions/crashes.

Sorry gregster thats a single HD 5970 dual gpu. I wish it was a single gpu but its not.

Its strange with HD 5970s if you disable quadfire you end up with 2 gpus running.

With GTX 690s if you disable quad sli you end up with 1 gpu running. If you try and get 1 card running 2 gpus while the other card is still in the machine its an absolute nightmare with the drivers.

Glad you got it sorted

How are you getting on with the memory is that up to full speed.

My bad. Sorted now and thanks for letting me know :)

Its fantastic, going from 11-13-13-30-2T to 11-13-11-27-1T netted me about an extra 150 points. Still a little life left in them yet I think, running at the max XMP speed of 2400mhz, going any higher than 2400mhz is going to be tricky as I'd have to be looking in the region of 2600mhz once the straps are taken into consideration.

Just need to figure out if its working lowing the tRFC clock, currently sitting at 222.

I have found 3dmark11 the physics tests to be a very good test of memory. That i7 975/HD 5970 I was ocing yesterday was interesting. Ocing the CPU - no problem, ocing the GPUs - no problem. When it came to the memory (patriot viper rated 8-8-8-24 2000mhz) what a pain. Doing the graphics tests was no problem (the memory even done that oced to 2133mhz loose timmings). As soon as I got to the physics tests BSOD, 3dmark11 crashing and lots of other problems. The fastest I could run the memory through the physics section was @1866mhz which is a long way short of their rated speed.

If anyone wants to give their memory a good quick test a few runs through 3dmark11 has a good chance of finding a problem.

When I first put my memory in my x79 system the tRFC clock was also around 222 after 8 Pack helped me it is now on 96.

I second this, it snuffed out any radical timings I tried fairly quickly too, if you have 3dmark11 Advanced you can also just go direct to the physics test, which is what I was doing to see how the OC/Memory faired. Got a bsod at 11-12-11-30-1T, have a feeling I may need to drop to 2T to get the timings any tighter, may also try at 2333mhz, as this avoids me having to clock the base, in theory the lower speed should give me tighter timings, so thats my next quest, 2333mhz @ 10-11-10-25-1T

Edit: I'll try collar 8 pack and see what he says about the trfc.

TRFC = Get that mother down! Really helps with overall latency. 88/96 when pushing up to 2133. 96 should be good at 2400 speeds generally, depending on what RAM you have but 114 is almost a dead cert.

Had another go at it, couldn't handle that 7850 being above me, damn those blooming Ivy Bridge CPU's. :o

I cranked it up a little more, Sorry Gibbo GTI :p

Hehe, Love to see competition between cards :) Does show how good the 7850/70's are though and proves they are very capable cards at a fraction of the cost of the 79XX/6XX cards.

Yes indeed, all in the name of fun. I think i'm about at my limit now though as I can't shove more than 1.225V down the Sapphire card. Trixx maxes at that point.
