Is there a way to put a dark background behind the chat box as it is very difficult for me to read over the moving background of the game. I have changed the text colours but it still gives me headache, literaly. Very strange to have done it that way.

Is there away to disable tool tips, when the cursor goes over a skill it pops up a large box with the skill description, can this be turned off? I like to use the mouse as much as possible.

Im playing a Chanter and starting to get a little worried as to when people are trying to form groups they are not taking Chanters in the party. I realise that at low level we might not be supreme buffers but is this something that is going to continue in later levels? Right now people are taking DD and ignoring Chanter altogether. I don't want to run into problems completing quests for being the neglected class.

Don't worry about the Chanter thing. You WILL get groups, it's just the low levels generally know very little at the moment. The koreans pretty much, won't do anything without a Chanter in the group.

i went the path of the Spiritmaster and im just about to ding 23. We get a lot of different pets to summon all with different stats, damage and attacks. The main benefit of this class is survivability, we use our pet to tank and summon other spirits and apply DoTs to wear enemies down. Whilst all this is going on we get loads of handy CC and debuffs, which simply means we control the fight.

im really enjoying this class and its perfect for the grind, we can let our pet kill a mob whilst we go off farming resources. My advice would be to take up Alchemy asap and get farming as much Kandula and Theonia (sp) plants as possible because we go through mana like hot knife through butter!

cant stress enough the importance of auto-attacks !! with a Book you get ranged auto but less damage.. with an Orb you get higher damage but you need to be within melee range for auto-attacks..

-auto-attacks really do make a massive difference as in between certain skill chains the auto attacks do a lot of extra damage !!

Ok having built my rig yesterday I've finally got round to playing this game and I'm level 6 lol (asmodian scout) tbh it looks very nice and plays very well, really enjoying it but of all things to spoil that its the queues, unbelievable, 3 hours waiting time, thats somekind of joke right? 2005 people in the queue, sure hope it doesnt crash!!

Part of the problem is that everyone is going onto the same servers, instead of going for servers with lower populations. New servers come and people dont move, server transfers are on their way...but people still wont move.

On the plus side, its not too much longer until the free 30 days are up, at which point a lot of those 2000 people in the queue will quit either because of the queues, or because they dont like the grind, or because they dont like the pvp. At which point all of us remaining who do like the game wont have to worry about queues anymore :D
 
I made the mistake of starting the game at 3.30am (I had just finished building and was itching to try it) all servers were listed as "Low" population - I could always re-roll I guess.

Which server do you guys play on?

Very true about the 30 days free trial although looking at the Aion forums and the WoW forums, a lot of people are moving over so I'm not sure we will see a massive decrease in population yet! (unfortunately)

Really enjoying what I have seen so far, fantastic graphics/sound and the grind doesnt bother me (almost made Warlord in WoW PvP before they changed honor debt, now THAT was a grind!:D)

Oh well another hour to wait :D

Can someone explain what adsactly DP is used for and is having this DP at L3 I think it is now whats giving my toon a strange glow?

Also im having difficulty tracking down a spell book "Yustiel’s Protection I" for Chanter, any ideas where I can pick it up?

your class gets powerful spells that require certain amounts of dp , level 3 dp (4k) is the max you can have , you gain dp by kiling things
 
what in your opinions is the best pvp class?

i'm currently playing sorcerer at lvl 18, and loving it so far, i think once you learn the class and what to do in certain situations it becomes a lot easier amirite?
 
Anyone have any of these crashes that only seem to be happening to ATI users?

If so, any idea what's causing it? Because I have JUST started getting them, and have now had 6 in less than 20 minutes. Really infuriating!

Spiritmasters are quite unique in Aion, they summon different pets with different abilities. The benefit is you can use the spirit to tank and once its holding aggro you can then debuff the target, and then depending on how the fights going either throw a load of DoTs its way or use your high DPS attacks. You can always use specific pet skills so it taunts the mob and gains back the aggro.

my main point about auto attacks depend on the whether your using a spellbook (ranged auto) or Orb (melee distance auto). If the pet keeps aggro your Orb auto attacks are hitting and as magic attacks dont crit, your melee Orb attacks do ... it really adds to the total DPS your throwing out.,if that makes any more sense ;p
 
ok, playing it and enjoying it but seem to be running out of quests now. Level 20, i ground my way through 18 and 19 and there just doesnt seem to be anyone handing out quests now. Playing asmodean, any suggestions? Am i missing an area? The game seemed to chuck quests at you left right and centre up to 18 then nothing.

By 20 you should have covered all of the Altgard zone, including the traders post and Impetusium and all of the 11 or 12 quests in BlackClaw Outpost and Blackclaw Village. Then at 20 you have 2 further zones that you can go into , Brustholin and Morheim.

Also be sure to go back to previous places each time you level as new quests open up, plus be sure to explore Pandemonium fully because there are all kinds of quests hidden around in there.

My main is 22 and hasnt run out of quests at any time and currently has about 9 quests open.
 
Yup, do check back in Pandemonium ( sp? ) too ....some new quest threads open up at various levels, directing you to new areas/hubs as the poster above has named.
