**Official** Aion RELEASE Thread

Hey guys, my game is getting really choppy when there's a lot of players near me. Can anyone recommend the best way to lessen this problem? I can either upgrade cpu, gfx or ram.

current specs:
C2D E2200 @stock
Nvidia 9600GT
4GB OCZ 6400 DDR2
Asus P5N-E SLI

Generally the game plays great, with ~65fps average. It's just the problem in crowded areas that I need to fix, and I'm not sure which component to upgrade for that purpose.
Any advise you can give is appreciated.

Cheers.
turn off bloom and Vsync
what res are you using?

Cheers for the quick reply. Vsync and bloom are already off. In crowded areas I also turn off weather effects.
Resolution is 1440x900.

i would suggest to get a Ati 4870 1gb or Nvdia, a GTX 260 will run Aion dandy at your res at max settings
and overclock your CPU to 3GHZ

im not really sure whether or not to continue with aion...ive reached level 30, and every level seems to be the same now, just quest, grind, pvp, grind some more, ding, etc etc.

ontop of that i got an xbox 3 days ago and haven't touched aion since i've been playing halo with my mates. i was thinking of cancelling my subscription but i'm not completely sure.

Well, quest, grind, pvp, ding pretty much covers the general gist of MMOs :D

i agree :P although i suppose in some others i have played there was something to work forward to..don't get me wrong, i don't mind the grind at all, i'm just wondering if 5 days + /played of grinding will be worth it in the end

Last night I actually had some fun playing the game, I went Steel Rake at lvl 41 with my Cleric. It was half legion half pug run. The only person that did it before was the tank, thanks god he did it before as he explained how to kill the 2 bosses we did (we did first floor apparently). It took quite a bit of time to do the whole place, neraly 3h I think but for first time not bad and exp is also good there. You can't skip mobs like in Fire Temple, you almost have to kill all mobs and we killed a lot of them.

I think I have gained like 20% of lvl 41 in there so it was fun and well worth it. No drops unfortunately (except green legs for me and about 300k worth of other items) but something different from hours of mindles grinding. Also the bosses weren't just tank and spank. Last boss is well funny and easly doable when people know what to do and they cooperate (thats for the first floor).

has anyone managed to get crossfire working with Aion i installed a second 5870 last night and i get the crossfire logo appear in aion but my frames are no different than using one 5870?

Edit:em maybe it is working im not sure in some areas im getting 330 fps but mostly between 120-200 that with full settings on max 8XAA Bloom 3 and a res of 1980 by 1080?

Does crossfire sound like its working?

Seemed fun at first, but I noticed all my old guildies in WoW have now canceled Aion subscriptions and is reporting back for raiding duties in WoW. They all took a month off with the hope of going Aion full time. Wasn't to be.

I quit mine, L4D2 coming soon and it never really grabbed me :)

If you aren't gonna use it no point in resubbing imo

Very true, no point resubbing if you've no plans to play.

I'm still really enjoying Aion, still playing almost every night ;) L4D has never really interested me and thinking about it...theres not really anything else coming that sparks my interest. If Dragon Ages had multiplayer I would probably be very very interested in that and it might cause me to break from Aion..but alas, its not to be.

Diablo 3 is still miles and miles away. Theres no other MMOs on the market which I find appealling.. for various reasons, either I've played them too much, they're too full of angry immature people, or they just arent the style of MMO I like. So for me its just Aion, which is pretty handy really as I'm having a lot of fun in Aion anyway :D

What fps do you get in the capital city?

What an enjoyable game I must say. Currently level 49. Should hit 50 tonight which will be fun.

In my opinion the game gets better as it goes on. If you can handle the grind (imo not much of a grind 40-50 hours for 49-50) From 46 you can do the PvPvE instance which is cool.

Also you make a shed load of cash - from 43-49 I have made about 45 mil which has enabled me to buy full gold equipment for my alt.

If people have doubts about the game it only gets better imo.

cHk4 - how did you make this much gold in 6 levels? Grinding, grinding/quests?

I'm currently lvl 42 and I don't think that I've made more than 2mil K per lvl, maybe more if I get lucky with some blue drops that i can sell for 500k-1mil.

Currently my balance is 5mil K.

lvl 10 is not lvl 40, the difference is just huge.

You should have your first million by lvl 25 I suppose, then leveling takes much longer than anything pre lvl 25, longer grind = more Kinah + higher chance on some items that sell for quite a bit.

Grinding mate - High level stigmas are great to sell because not many people are farming 46+ mobs so when they drop you can sell them for a tidy profit. Also the greens/whites etc from level 46+ mobs vendor for 130k-500k. Fluxes are great also, I can have up to 20-30 fluxes drop a day and the weapon ones sell for 250k each.

I've had 1 gold drop (sold for 3.3 mil) and 1 blue (sold for 1mil) so most of it has come from vendor trash, stigmas and fluxes.

Hope that helps.

But then you can have bad days also, last night I made about 200k for 6 hours grinding. This morning I made 1.4 mil in 2 hours so luck is a big part of it.
