**Official** Aion RELEASE Thread

Having fun here also for the most part. Getting my crafting up as well as my level, it helps reduce the boredom of grinding out monsters for hours :) Got really jammy yesterday too, just hit level 25 and decided to have 1 attempt at making a blue coloured staff. Had to get a crit on a white staff first to make a green one then use that in another recipe and hope for critting a green into a blue and luckily managed to do it first attempt :D

The only thing that REALLY annoys me is high level griefers from the opposing faction killing newbs in the lower/mid level areas outside of the Abyss. I mean I don't mind getting killed it's just part of the game - but having some level 40+ asshat stealth character sneaking around the area and ganking you when you're trying to quest and stuff is just so infuriating.

Crafting really confuses me.

I recently got Handicraft, so I could make my own Bows (ranger). But I only have 2 recipes, and the Work Order I can get I dont seem to be able to get the recipe to make, despite the fact they give me hte raw materials?

Where do I buy recipes/designs from?

NPC next to the craft areas have the approapriate recipes.
You won't be able to buy anything decent from them tho.
The recipes you watn for green/blue/gold items are drops from mobs and also Work Order rewards.

You need to grind the Work Orders in order to level your crafting the most efficiently. You should end up with a decent amount of craft mats and recipes by the time you've done a good amount of work orders. Theres normally a decent selection of recipes on the broker where people have been rewarded/looted a recipe they already know.

Be warned crafting is a HUGE money sink be prepared to farm for hours at a time only to have the cash gone within minutes. As for work orders, Don't use the craft all button, only craft the exact amount you need to hand in the work order. That way you will end up with more XP, more PT and more craft rewards overall. Also quick heads up...

Craft upgrades:
Initial craft skill ~ 18k
99 > 100 upgrade ~ 120k
199 > 200 ~ cant remember
299 > 300 ~ 480k

I did armor smithing btw other craft costs may be different.

The final grind from 399-400 WILL be expensive, unless you have the time/money and inclination I wouldn't bother with any crafting.

Any asmodian guilds on spatalos recruiting? I know theres an ocuk one on there but last thing i heard they was full on gladiators.
Taking it slow not had much time lately currently lvl 23 but enjoying it:)

At the moment we are still inviting pretty much anyone who is a forum member, recruitment is a little more resitricted for non ocukers.

completing Work Orders from the crafting NPC often gives you Designs as rewards, you can also obtain them via the material vendor under the Design tab. Crafting is a massive time and cash sink, I have been making potions purely for my own char's gathering the ingredients then keeping half and selling the rest.

I managed to pull in 100k from potions over a few days which covered the measly 90k for my Water Spirit II book of pure awesomeness from the broker.

That's good to know, I may fill out an application. If you don't mind me asking how many you got in the ocuk guild now?

Netphreak
lvl27 Sorcerer

No app required either at the moment for ocukers. We had a purge recently and have 65 in the legion, i reckon we have about 45-50 actives.

nearly 47 on telemachus, can't imagine making an alt higher then level 10, the grinding is begining to become a killer. not done any questing since 35, the time and experiance per quest just is not worth it.

There must be instance at your level tho? Isn't that great xp, at least at lvl25 it is :p

Thanks for the help guys, will check it all out when I get back in game later today.

Also, who should I talk to on Spatalos for an OcUK invite? Ive /w a few people Ive seen about in game, but so far nobody has replied :(

Sounds fair enough, I mean another 3 levels and you will be max level.

I havent even made my first monthly payment yet, still in the "free" month and I started on the first day of headstart. Going from level 1 to max level within the first month seems pretty reasonable to me.

Mind you, my main is only lvl 30, I reckon it will be around January or February when I hit level 50. Possibly March.

I just started on crafting today for the first time. I'm trying alchemy at the moment and I'm on the 40P Sleeping Aid work order. The task is to create 6 and I get issued with 6 Kandula Buds as part of the ingredients list. However, I failed one too many times and now I can not complete the task as I've used up all the given Kandula Buds. I go to the supplies counter and they don't sell it and speaking to the Alchemy Expert (the person that gave me the task) is also fruitless.

How do I get hold of more issued materials for a work order task? :)

I've been doing this too with alchemy, potions actually sell quite well - cooking is a decent money earner also once you get into the 150's+.

Alchemy is pretty good for money with mana / hp and flight time potions and the easiest to train up to 399. cooking has the easiest expert quest at 399 by far!!!! been on the alchemy expert quest for a week now unless i have 20+ mil to waste i'll be waiting till the broker prices drop....

Hey guys, my game is getting really choppy when there's a lot of players near me. Can anyone recommend the best way to lessen this problem? I can either upgrade cpu, gfx or ram.

current specs:
C2D E2200 @stock
Nvidia 9600GT
4GB OCZ 6400 DDR2
Asus P5N-E SLI

Generally the game plays great, with ~65fps average. It's just the problem in crowded areas that I need to fix, and I'm not sure which component to upgrade for that purpose.
Any advise you can give is appreciated.

Cheers.
