**Official** Aion RELEASE Thread

Just as bad as ever. I was hoping a cpu and graphics card upgrade would help (and it has, to an extent) but it's still really un-optimised where there are lots of players on the screen.

And ppl slate SWTOR regarding optimization, AION is now 3 yrs old and this is still a major issue by the sound of it.

It is bad at times, but nowhere near as bad as SWTOR. Also SWTOR had 5 years of development and still couldn't fix things for release.

I never had bad fps problems in big pvp in Aion but i did with 30+ people on my screen in Ilum.

I would disagree, i currently play SWTOR and while it has used a terrible engine which has performance issues, i have never been that frustrated to quit the game due to stuttering Lag etc.

AION has no excuses imo they have used one of the best engines on the market and ppl say the lag is still there in Sanctum:rolleyes:.

The Stuttering in the fleets is very bad at times but nowhere near as bad as Sanctum was for me 12 months ago.

And if the lag problem with Sanctum is still there i would have to quit AION again as my gaming experience was far worse than SWTOR regarding performance.

Sanctum was literately a slide slow at times with me, and my rig at the time was very similar to what i have now.

Of course i will give AION another go sometime and see what Sanctum is like 12 months later to when i played last

This is my gaming experience mind so others may disagree with me :)

That's fair enough, everyone has and is entitled to their own opinions.

I never had that problem in Pandemonium on release and still don't now at all. So it's obviously fine with some players and bad for others.

I'll log in later and check Sanctum on my other character.

Please, that would be great to see what Sanctum is like currently, much appreciated

Downloaded the game just for some laughs, I can't believe how dated the game looks now. When I played it during release in EU I though it looked great.

^ yeah I think its still one of the better looking MMO's though, love the art direction too.

kmufc77, you should get really good performance in sanctum, maybe it was something about your config it was getting hitched on (not liking the HDD maybe).

My machine's a couple of years old now (aside from the card) but I find performance pretty decent. For an MMO it feels fairly well optimized.

gimme a few ill upload a video

edit:

think fraps made it a little more jerky than usual but should give you an idea of performance you should expect to get

Thanks for the Video megalomanic

Looks fine to what i used to play, like i said Sanctum was like a slide show at times.

One thing i forgot to mention was that i was using BT as an ISP when i played Aion for 12 months, i now have a different ISP and location so i might get better performance with Sanctum now.

F2P has been fantastic for Aion, there is PvP all the time everywhere - on Spatalos that is dunno bout the nub servers :p The only problem so far is you get cursed far too quickly when rifting so maybe they have tweaked the mechanic.

double heads up !!

Veteran Rewards are now in available to players who previously had NcSoft accounts, however GF are removing them perma soon !!

Secondly, the free expansion hits EU on the 15th Aug !! new instances, level cap raised to 60, new PvP armour, Mounts added, housing and lots more!
