**Official** Aion RELEASE Thread

Finally managed to get in last night, rolled on Nexus.

For some reason the retail version is slightly different to the Beta client as I couldn't get the game to run when the Beta was fine.. And I'm fairly sure that issue was with Avast.

It's a very pretty game, and is certainly worth a go, especially if you're only waiting for GW2. That being said, I've never gotten further than level 20 something each of the 4 times I've started

I thought i would try this out for a laugh and to pass some time, and i get a message saying my account is permanently banned. :(

I think this is your issue.

there is NO grind, there are too many quests now to ever need to grind.

I only ever remember hearing about Aion for the horrible grind it had.

I guess with the conflicting views in the thread it is down to personal preference and tolerance as to define how much of a grind it is.

The grind was absolutely horrible at release, it forced me to quit at lvl 37 but when i returned a few months later they added a ton of 1million XP quests which made it so much easier.

Its a good game if you intend to mostly PvE as the grind for PVP equipment is still quite painful and time consuming.

It was a big grind at release, nowhere near as bad as other games but with a Job it was very time consuming. It has now had so many quests added to it that you barely need to grind and albeit slow still has sped up leveling to the point you can put up with it.

PvP gear isnt that hard to obtain, I always grab the Blue lvl 30 armour with the PvP defense stats and +10 each piece. Just spend a few hours flying around the low level Abyss Quests areas and you can make a few thousand AP depending on who you fight. Be prepared to die a lot until you work out a nice rotation and bind skills to make it easier to react.

PvP can differ depending on your class, ranged always seem to have the easiest of times but you can't go wrong with the Spiritmaster with its CC and Fear :p .

From what I have played so far I dont seem to think that there is a grind at all, Its a typical MMO so I am guessing that most people want power leveling and all that jazz.

Again I stand by what I said, there was no grind ever the game was always easy to level up in. That is my own view.

Compared with games like L2 on release, it wasn't a grind at all, but by todays standards it is a grind for most people who don't have the time to play as many hours as others hence why most people quit.

It is much easier now though with the tonnes of quests.

The grind was pretty bad compared to moden mmo standards yes, i did play L2 for abit with my brother, dont know if any of you played on bartz (us server) he was in uprising :)

I thing that annoyed me the most was the fact i had to shift f12 in pvp and how people seem to think that was totally fine, fighting name plates.. And also the fact that you couldnt fly for a long time before the timer ran out and you had to farm pots to make you fly for longer and faster.

Oh and the game crashing all the time..

Haven't played this for about 2 years but free-to-play has come at the perfect time, what with my getting bored with WoW and needing something to tide me over until GW2.

Transferred my old account over for veteran status but starting a new character on Nexus server.
