****Official Aliens vs Predator Thread****

Had a good mash at Species TDM with a mate last night we selected Aliens each time, had a right laugh. Nothing better than running up on a Predator 2 on 1 you almost feel bad for them :D
 
So after finally finishing the marine SP campaign...i noticed one thing...you only meet the Predator once which i thought was pretty bad considering that you see more of those ****ing aliens than you do of the predator.

Anyhow now playing as an Alien in the SP mode...this ones a bit more tougher due to the fact that you the transition which sometimes makes it difficult to see where you are...plus the bumpers being used as weapons isnt a very good choice in all honesty.

Anyhow maybe im missing something but surely you should see more Predators as the level progresses ie marine SP campaign?.
 
The Alien campaign is a joke, it's so short and easy! I'm on the last fight now but didn't have enough time to finish it before I had to leave for work.

You can see why there was no sp demo. The game is a demo ;)

I would find it easier but the controls are a bit awkward for me.
 
Yeah, even thought the AvP game is a bit gash, I'm glad the noobs are buying it - more incentive for Sega/Gearbox to greenlight ACM :D
 
I was reading that seeing as this has sold well rebellion are talking to SEGA about a sequel. I really hope it's a lot better than this.

Bring on coloniel marines.

If you think this is gash then why are you keeping your hopes up for ACM? If its anything like AVP you will just start crying again anyhows but it would be good for the fans. ^^

Because colonial marines looks more what these games should be, a co-op game against a horde. Where as AVP is drivel that was knocked together to cream a bit of easy money.

If this was anything but a tie to the great creatures from the films everyone would talk about what pap it is.

Very little effort at all went into this game. The graphics are ****, the controls are **** and survival mode must have been put together for a laugh.

The predator campaign is about the best of the lot and thats a short demo.

Sega Saturns Alien game was better than this when I played it in 1996.

Crying? lol, that's cute :D

Crappy games are never good for *true* fans. If you'll lap up any polished turd just because it's based on a popular franchise, then I feel sorry for you.

As ic1 said, Gearbox are an awesome studio (one of my all-time favourite games is HL OpFor, which they developed) so there is a good chance that ACM will be a cracker.

Sounds about right... Metacritic agrees - and that's a pretty pathetic score when you consider the halo effect of having Aliens/Predator branding.

I was gonna pick this up when it hits <£15, but I won't bother now.

Got this on rental this morning.
played 30 mins as a marine.
seems a decent enough game.
sound is very atmospheric.
however the graphics are awful. looks like an xbox 1 game :confused:
 
It's been dropped to £29.97 on a few sites now.

I'll borrow it off my brother seeing as it's so short :o
 
Got a question about Survival mode. Has anybody seen any Queens in it yet? I heard a guy say he's faced Queens in it but we only got as far as seeing Praetorians who have a similar head crest as the Queen so maybe he thought they were Queens. Can anybody clarify?
 
Anyone else like to randomly fire there gun in infestation or predator hunt? :D

Is entertaining seeing how many people start firing or spin around. Still don't think the game is great, have had a few good games now but still believe without the AvP license its a 5-6/10 game.

I've played survivor with Wyrdo and he's a big queen, perhaps they meant they played with him ;)


I managed to stay alive in single player survivor for 20 minutes before getting bored :D That was on the square map where you are nearer the stims that respawn.

Stick on friendly fire you will soon stop spinning around then ;)
