****Official Aliens vs Predator Thread****

Cant wait to try the demo.

Loved the AVP 1 and 2. (2 mostly I will admit).

Only thing that irks me is that you seem to be alone allmost all the time again.

If you played in a squad in the game I would be able to play it lol, **** running around in the dark alone with those little ******* face huggers trying to bum you:eek:.

yeah but from the footage it looked like it was just you vs all the aliens. same ole same ole. :(

Wheres the teamplay? Wheres the you and ur team barracading yourselves in and preparing for an all out assault by the aliens at night and then all making a break for it through the vents whilst the Aliens music pumps away in the background?
 
Im loving the ability the predators and aliens have to jump to platforms. Thats something FPS games have been missing for a while, I'd love for this to happen more often in games. Targetted jumping is the sex

All of that sort of stuff with be in Aliens:Colonial Marines which is still in development. Its a squad baed co-op shooter in the style of Gears Of War afterall also being published by Sega.

While i can imagine a good portion of the game will be you on your own, we don't know whether the entire single player game will be like that lol. All we have seen are bits and pieces.

If you're after the all out assult barricaded in a room experience look up the Aliens Survivor mode video thats floating around.

Cannot wait for this but it really needs a survival mode Human v Aliens with sentry guns ;)

Seems like years ago I placed the pre-order for this.

Just checked my pre-order and noticed it's for colonial marines, wtf happened to that game?

It has a Survival Mode (aka Horde). There's a video floating around somewhere...
 
I cannot bloody wait for this. AvP2 on the PC was one of my most played games. Multiplayer was soooo good. Playing the xenomorph hiding in the shadows was great :D

Still on the way apparently, it's release has been held off because of AVP

Personally I think it'll end up being canned altogether.
 
I think I will play this game in five minute chunks, just like Bioshock! It's all my heart can take these days :(.

Read a thread somewhere a while ago where they said they where postponing the colonial marines game untill they see the success of this title. Basically testing the water with the console market as its there first FPS avp game to be released for console. If there is a good market ( is sucessful ) then they will undoubtedly release colonial marines. Really they have probably included a lot of the ideas of that game into this one, although obviously its not 3rd person :)
 
This game does look good but from what I've seen it's not a MASSIVE step forward from the originals I played and enjoyed years ago, also the sound samples on the marines gun's I've heard in trailers seem to be from the original game.

It's a game I'd like to get however I just don't see it delivering as good a gaming experience as it could do, but thats my opinon based on what I've seen so far, I hope that changes for the better!

You weren't seriously expecting them to change the sounds of the guns were you? I mean, they are the sounds from the films..........hence why they are the same from the game that was made in '99.
