Also comes down to how much fan noise you are prepared to put up with.

I can't stand fan noise, so my temps will always be higher than others, as I run my fans at around 800-1000RPM tops, and I actually only have 3 fans in my entire rig.

2 x 120mm on the H50-1, and the 200mm at the top of the case.

+1 agree with this totally.

I have two 180mm fans at 800 rpm, and then the H50 which is set to ramp up as needed. Stays at about 800rpm idle tho.

ok planning on getting one of these but not quite now, im going to be running with a 550 for a bit but have a couple of hundred to buy some RAM and a Matx Mobo.
so what Matx mobo should i get, no ASUS!!!
Im not looking to overclock madly and the CPU will be under water.

not sure if theres any new new 890 series matx mainboards other than the MSI 890GX. This one I seen when the 890series launched same time as my Asus 890GX- maybe worthwhile checking it out - MSI 890GXM-G65

I have the front 120mm to feed the GFX card.

More important since the 5770 is a lot more frugal than my 5850 :D

Thats the motherboard I am using. Good for around 4ghz though you will want a small chipset style fan to attach to the mosfet heatsink as it gets hot when you push the CPU with prime.

Hi guys :) Another noob here.
I'm a die hard flight simmer (aka nerd) and built this rig for FSX just a couple of months ago. Now I'm upgrading to a 1090T and plan to clock it like mad even though I don't expect to get more than 1-2 extra frames out of it, but who cares, OCing is so much fun anyway :D

I can see most of you have the H50, can I please ask if you would recomend it? got another WC kit available here also, the coolit and not sure which one I should get if any, do you think my current heatsink is up to the job?

cheers
