*Official* Antec 1200 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Well, my new system finally arrived last Wednesday and I was very impressed indeed with the 1200. Build quality is first class and while there are more attractive cases out there, it does look an awful lot better than the official promo pictures. This is not a self build but I was happy with the cable management and I have really grown to like the side window and the interior bathed in blue light.

I'm running a Q9550 @ 3.4ghz, 4 gigs of Corsair 6400, Asus P5Q-5 and initially a HIS Radeon 4870. However, the card died the next day and I have since had it replaced with a GTX 260 (pics of that to follow).

Hope you enjoy these :)

Just getting to grips with cable management on this case. Still work in progress, as always. Looking to get rid of the Floppy cable and get some round Sata II cables. Here's a mobile phone pic of the progress so far. Need to charge batteries for digital camera.

Anyone switched to one of these cases from an Akasa eclipse? Is the airflow better?

I really like the number of fans in the 1200 - the large top fan and putting the PSU at the bottom is much better imo. Plus 2 x 120mm fans at the back. Plus the best thing are those holes in the motherboard tray for cable management (Akasa decided to change theirs in the eclipse without telling anybody so I got stuck with a motherboard tray with one hole covered by the PCI slots :( ).

I really need to make a big effort to get my cables tidy. I have just added a fan controller to mine & it was all a bit experimental as I had to make some molex to 3 pin fan extension cables to wire it all in. by the time I had done that I just sort of whacked it all in.

think I will tear it all out tomorrow & start the cabling again from scratch

Razer uses its own software for audio gaming called Razer Fidelity™ gaming audio engine and Razer Enhanced Sonic Perception™.

However it does support EAX™ 2.0, Not sure about 5.0, is EAX a software or a hardware issue? can it be enabled by drivers? who knows.

Will give cable management another go at some point in the future. Possibly cut a hole for the MB cables just above the PSU

I completed my first simple mod of this case over the weekend.
As its quite a large heavy case and its going under my desk I decided that adding castors would be good so I don't give myself a hernia every time I need to move it  !

I'll post some pics at some point.

OK here are some images of my 1200 now with wheels. Its more of a practical mod than a pimped up mod as the wheels are only standard plastic types. As much as I would have loved some flash alloy wheels I was in a hurry to get it done and didn't fancy spending days searching the internet. Anyway here goes:

I also have images of the work in progress if anyone wants to see measurements and positioning etc, thanks
