Squad was announced for the first of the tests today:

England squad: Alastair Cook (Essex, capt), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire), Kevin Pietersen (Surrey), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Matt Prior (Sussex, wk), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Graeme Swann (Nottinghamshire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), James Anderson (Lancashire), Graham Onions (Durham).

The Ashes: England v Australia
July

10-14 1st Test, Trent Bridge

18-22 2nd Test, Lord's

August

1-5 3rd Test, Old Trafford

9-13 4th Test, Chester-le-Street

21-25 5th Test, The Oval

Really looking forward to this, love the ashes, but with British sport being on a high from the lions tour win...and the Aussies are reeling from changes in management and dropping players for not doing homework and punching out it will certainly be an interesting Ashes.

Hope to keep this thread updated.

In the pub? Sky have that Now TV thing where you can pay for internet streams without having sky, but it seems terribly expensive, like £10 for a day.

Sky Ashes HD is available as part of the sports package on all the other platforms as well AFAIK

Highlights are on Channel 5

All over the world...
Looking forward to a good Test/Ashes series. Hopefully the weather will hold out and get some good batting and bowling in.

Dont think the Aussies will win the Ashes back, England still looking very strong both batting and bowling and also playing at home also helps massively.

Whereas the Aussies with their indiscipline ie Warner back in the Champs trophy and the sacking of Mickey Arthur hasnt helped their cause. Plus the Aussie captain Clarke has a bad back although hes made a full recovery but it could always flare up.

Reckon it will 4-1 series win for England.

Sadly, I can't go to the pub for the whole afternoon for days at a time :(

Highlights it is I guess...

lots and lots of issues since ponting stepped down. 2 players sent home from india for not completing homework which was "how could we improve :bowling, batting, fielding". then David Warner punched joe root during the one day games. http://news.sky.com/story/1102517/david-warner-punched-englands-joe-root

then they sacked their coach and replaced him with an aussie.

So all in all they havent had the best run upto the ashes...but they are fighters and it could be a close run thing if we dont concentrate and go around thinking we've already won the little urn!
