Really looking forward to this, love the ashes, but with British sport being on a high from the lions tour win...and the Aussies are reeling from changes in management and dropping players for not doing homework and punching out it will certainly be an interesting Ashes.

Hope to keep this thread updated.

lots and lots of issues since ponting stepped down. 2 players sent home from india for not completing homework which was "how could we improve :bowling, batting, fielding". then David Warner punched joe root during the one day games. http://news.sky.com/story/1102517/david-warner-punched-englands-joe-root

then they sacked their coach and replaced him with an aussie.

So all in all they havent had the best run upto the ashes...but they are fighters and it could be a close run thing if we dont concentrate and go around thinking we've already won the little urn!

Yup,have flagged it up to a mod.

Really enjoyed the pomp and ceremony before the game.

What's people thoughts on agar the new 19 year old for Australia? Got his baggy cap today.

Lunch 98-2.

Expensive morning for Australia, but they have 2 wickets...so I'd give the session as 55:45 Australia.

Was a great ball from siddle. Need to bed down for a bit. The young lad in next...he's not had a lot of cricket recently.

What an odd first test day, glad we pulled it back this afternoon. Love the plot changes....I might have jinxed poor old joe root though.

Good to see Broad is back and fit. Should be an exciting days cricket!

As soon as he finished his over he went off the field. Can he see him missing the next test at this rate and hopefully being fit for the 3rd test.

Excellent bowling jimmy. 2 day game anyone?
