Official Asus Rampage IV Extreme Thread

if any current owner had a choice currently - for little price difference, ROG P67 or mid-range Z68 (Asus/Gigabyte etc)?

just the ROG P67s seem very discounted atm - and sort of always fancied a ROG board

Is there any difference P67/Z68 upgrade path to Ivybridge ?

Not much difference between them i think except some more hard drive options
Etc

FINALLY finished my build with this board and the mostly new water cooling setup....

360 rad (top) + 180 rad (bottom), with a Raystorm CPU block, drive bay reservoir, Swiftech mcp655 pump, and using Mayhems Aurora cooling liquid - cool stuff

I'm staying at 4.9GHz for 24/7 use. Prime 95 stable and temps stay under 70c after 8 hours of full load :)

Nice build by the way Mr B, I have got the Aurora Red for my build, does it look as good in a loop as I can imagine it will?

Yeah looks great in motion, the pics dont do it justice. You need to carefully position some lights to make the most of it though. I also tried a few different lights with it and it looks best with red LED's :)

My girlfriend needed a new pc, hers was getting very old, 1996 old. So I told her I can make you a good one for what you need it for, She was so happy.

I told her go on Google and go on forums to get a idea of what you want (nothing fancy) and you to can get into PC building for the 1st time learn the trade, so she did for a month and half.

Well this is where I'm pure jealous, below is what she got

LOL like your story...

And even though i had trouble with my memory i'd still recommend it for this board, it's totally fine with 4 sticks (16GB), and Simulatorman also has 16GB of it with no problems. It's only when you have 8 sticks that you get problems, but i easily solved it by changing the memory settings in the BIOS and now i have 32GB running at 2133MHz.

It's G.Skill PC3-17000 RipjawsZ (model no. F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH) dont think overclockers sell it though.. EDIT: they do now

Thanks for the advice Mr B will get that one you said, 16GB is fine anything else will just be overkill lol, although I'm surprised they didn't throw in the sound card which came with the rampage 2 extreme. Not a bad sound card I think.

Also think of air cooling with the new Noctua's NH-D14 2011 this a pretty big CPU cooler just wanna will it block any of the dimms either side usually this the ones with high heat Sinks
