Official Asus Rampage IV Extreme Thread

LOL like your story...

And even though i had trouble with my memory i'd still recommend it for this board, it's totally fine with 4 sticks (16GB), and Simulatorman also has 16GB of it with no problems. It's only when you have 8 sticks that you get problems, but i easily solved it by changing the memory settings in the BIOS and now i have 32GB running at 2133MHz.

It's G.Skill PC3-17000 RipjawsZ (model no. F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH) dont think overclockers sell it though.. EDIT: they do now

Any chance you can send me your memory settings for 8 sticks Mr.B.?

Christmas quickie :D

Anybody noticed an odd CPU temp bug when resuming out of sleep ?
Happened twice on the 905 bios, where after bringing the system out of sleep, the cores read at 91degrees.
Figuring that it was a small bug with Aida64, I opened up Realtemp and HWMonitor and it read the same 91degrees across all cores.
Quick restart back into the bios showed the temps in line, and on reload of Windows it was back to normal, so can only assume its some sensor mis-read (somehow relating to the TjMax)

Have updated to the latest bios, but haven't had an opportunity to test it out. Running a 3960X with 16GB G.Skill.

I'm using a 3930K and I haven't had any core reading like yours but I noticed in Aida my CPU has erratic temp reading, jumping from 4-6 to 71-74 degrees. The cputin on the Hardware monitor is also acting similarly.
I think it's the software not reading the sensor properly. I'm not worrying about it too much as my core temperatures are normal for the overclock I had.

Its possible, as I'm happy enough that the reported temps at all other times is on the level, although I haven't really overclocked anything of note yet, everything appears stable etc etc.
Must keep an eye out for it again next time I'm tinkering.

Hi all,

does anyone know if the G.Skill RipJawsZ 32GB (8x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C9 1866MHz kit works on this mobo?
i just presumed it would and ordered it without looking in the QVL, have since discovered only the 16GB version is stated?

is this a problem? i havent received my stuff yet so i cant test it.

Dan

EDIT:

just checked and there are actually no 32GB listed in the QVL

Is it this, F3-14900CL9Q2-32GBZL (4Gx8) :

Then it's listed as compatible. You can always check with their tech support. :)
