** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

Can I ask how would the sound level compare of 2 X 5770s compared to 1 X 4870 which I currently have.

I dont find the sound level of 2 to be any different to one tbh. Even when pushing them hard they barely hum. Mine are both the shroud cooler though the newer ones might be different.

And why not! :p

The ones for 119?

Regarding the bloke above asking whether 4870 is better than 5770 or vice versa. It seems the 5770 is only worthwhile if you get in crossfire.

By the way, is there a lot of faffing around in drivers/software to configure games in crossfire?

Nah Crossfire is so matured now you won't even think you had two cards in your machine!

And yea the 119, for the price they are a steal in my opinion, one on it's own is not a bad deal at all.

Just been playing MW2 1920x1200 maxed 4xAA and it flew at about 70FPS+

You just put a cross in a box that appears on first run from install.. it really could not be easier, You dont even need to re-install the drivers.

Ah you mean the unbranded standard ATi 5770 perchance?

This one yep

Any advantage of having the shroud cooler card over branded ones/

The shroud ones vent the hot air out of the case at the back. My two pump out a fair amount of heat when running.. Must be better going out the back rather than in the case i would have thought...

Ah thats with a single! So should easily hit triple digits with CF?

Scaling looks good so I'd expect twice the performance almost so yea easily, single 5770 is a fast little bugger I want to test it out more but I'm priming my i5 atm and want to keep away from stuff before I verify the stability
