** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if I can run 3 monitors with this setup without an expensive active DisplayPort to DVI connector when not gaming? Couldnt find any details googling.

I have two VGA 19" LCDs and one 24" widescreen DVI/HDMI LCD that I want to connect. I dont actually care too much for running games via all 3 monitors, just want to use them as an extended desktop.

Also I read that Eyefinity can only run with all monitors at identical resolution, but wasnt sure if this just refers to gaming. As I have one 24" widescreen, and two 19", I would like the 24" at diff res to the other two. Is any of the above possible?

Cheers,
Dutchie

Hi Dutchie welcome to the forums :)

When I right click on my ATi icon it shows 1..2..&3.. as adaptors.

1 is my main screen.

2.. shows up as extended desktop

3.. also shows up as extended desktop.

I can't confirm whether they work though sorry!

you can only have 2 working at a time. I had 3 pluged in and it would only let you use 1 main and 1 extended. You will need a Active Display adapter if you want to use the 3 monitors at the same time if 1 of them does not have a DP port, and yes they all have to run the same res

Is it normal for it to take about 30 seconds after switch on for my pc to enter boot. just get blank screen with the card just spinning up the down etc etc.

Hi all :)

Just built my machine - i7-920, UD5 mobo, Powercolor 5770

What sort of temps should I be expecting from the 5770?
Using CPUID its reporting the idle temp approx 45C, after gaming for 30mins its 65C. Are these temps ok?

Thanks :)
