** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

My two with OEM coolers make little noise. My 120mm silent fan makes more noise on idle than both my 5770,s.. When running them at max they hum slightly, i have to be very close to the case to hear it... I had a 260 a while back and it was considerably louder than both of these together..

At the end of the day Tom, you're a PC enthusiast.

When I got my PS3, I thought it would mean a lot less time on the PC, and a lot less spent.

Has it?

Has it ****. :p

Depends if you want the feature set of the 5 Series, just get another 4890 and it will fly

Well i would like the futureproofing of dx11. But how much difference in performance am i looking at?
Wouldnt mind sacrifacing a little bit of speed, for less noise, heat and power etc

Cheers for the replies gents, now I just need to pass on this information to my bank account. Once the bank account has conferred with the wallet and an agreement is made I'll let you know if I can join your club.

Which cards are confirmed to ship with the egg coolers at the moment?

5770 then, I think the 5770 is around on par with the 4870? maybe slightly faster and the crossfire scaling is a bit better with the 5 series.

So if you want less noise and heat and power I'd say a 5770 is good call

I think i'm going to get one myself. Double the memory of my 4870, should cost me very little to upgrade.

Quiter, cooler, Dx11 support, and the potential to add another.
