your idle temps look fine, try the overdrive for yourself as everyones is different, hit the auto tune and go and have a bath or something while you wait, and to the last one i have no idea

thanks i dont know anything about over-clocking so i don't want to break it lol .
just wondered what the rough settings are around, then i can play and keep an eye on temps if i make changes does the auto tune put it to max for system ? ?

Hi guys,

I have a sapphire 5770 and was getting the vertical screen crashes all the time. I had installed my intel p55 chipset drivers using the latest driver installer from intel and this reported that the drivers had installed. HOWEVER! when I started to have a dig around in device manager it became clear that virtually none of the chipset drivers were being used (just the crappy MS ones) ... so I ran the chipset installer again but this time with the "-OVERALL" switch. This switch forces ALL chipset drivers to be overwritten whether installed or not. After doing this, I checked device manager again and all the chipset devices were correctly using the intel driver.

I've not had a vertical line crash since (4 weeks now), I've had the occassional black screen crash on the desktop but after analysing a dump file I'm confident this is a CCC issue and I reckon uninstalling CCC will eliminate that too.

Mine idles at 37-42 but i have a tiny case, not tried Rivatuner gadget, but Gpu observer gadget works fine :)

how do you get to this mate, as i checked my device manager and see the same as you did (ms outdated drivers everywhere).

I downloaded the latest Intel P55 drivers from here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Chipset+Software+Installation+Utility

And then ran the chipset installer using -OVERALL switch in the run dialog like so:

Once you've done that, most of the devices in device manager whose name starts "Intel(R)" should be using the Intel driver.

Hope this is helpful!

I removed both coolers this morning, cleaned.. and reseated with AS5.

The Stock Asus stuff is like toothpaste, but thicker.. it was also over some of the chips next to the core as there was far too much.

I'll stick some pics up in a min, its lowered my Load temps :)

Mine crashes after each round of MW2 anyone else get something similar or know a fix?

I had this problem, set the textures to auto, that worked for me, but I was getting a memory error message.

This was the first thing i did with mine as soon as i got it. The stuff Asus uses is terrible and very poorly applied. Replaced it with MX-2 and removed the black plastic shroud from the egg cooler too. Looks better to me. Temps max out at 62 degrees with the fan hitting a max of 34%. Made a heatsink for the VRM's out of an old Pentium heatsink. People say the VRM's don't get very warm but i have a temp sensor on the heatsink and it sits around 55 degrees under load so the VRM's themselves must be a bit warmer. My card is only at stock at the moment as well.

that sounds like a post that needs pics;)

Here's a quick piccie. Could'nt be bothered taking it out to photograph properly. Going to stick a waterblock on it soon, probably when i get the second card for crossfire.

Temps have dropped by about 5-6oc on each card I reckon. Afterburner before and after shots below!

Some shots I took whilst stripping down the card... Asus love their thermal paste, they spread it on like butter!!
