unfortunately Melbourne is a bit rubbish for actual wet race, as the places to pass are limited, but is good when it has changeable conditions as we saw at the back end of the race as you can have soaking parts of the track with the other half dry.
I'm dislike it when it feels too much like a lottery, but I think there's real skill in timing tyre changes and maximising on strategy in tricky and changeable conditions both from teams and drivers so I don't often feel like it gets in the way and it mixes things up and opens up a lot of action that otherwise doesn't happen. It's a pity the change-over phase got neutered in this race.
Yeah I don't want a literal lottery.
But it's great when teams have to make the call with drivers for tyres. Teams with nothing to lose roll the dice. And good drivers excel.
Rookies had a hard time this GP. Being rookies and very very difficult conditions.. You can't blame them. But solid drives were rewarded. Which is great.
Hoping for an entertaining year this year. And tempted to put a bet on Oscar to win the WDC. But odds aren't particularly great. (about 4x I believe).
But putting a bet on the WDC alway makes the season more fun.
I always supported alpine (Renault) . Since forever. But the way the team. Is now just seems so toxic. They messed up with Oscar and I'm glad he left. Now they are being douches with Jack. I just can't support them anymore.
TBF It is heart breaking.
My son plays a competitive sport and the amount of effort, blood, sweat and tears he's put in to it - it's too much to put up with at times but they learn to take it on the chin and come back fighting stronger
