*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

I need to ask a question regarding Sound settings.

Anyone use War Tapes setting? do you need a particular set up to use it? I tried it and the only difference to me is everything sounds louder, I don't have a 5.1 set up I just use the TV Speakers this maybe why but there is a lot of hype on youtube about this setting I want to know what it really does and is it benefitial to me in any way?
 
Anyone having any problems with the SPECACT pack :confused:

Everytime i setup a class it keeps forgetting and defaulting back to standard ????? most annoying !!!

Anyone else had this ??

Also using the recon SPECACT kit with the own style gun whatever its called is not counting my kills in the stats ?????

Anyone else similair ?

Its preference really. It adds gain and distortion as well as various filters to mimic overload on a mic...thus "war tapes" i.e. like old war tape recordings.

It equalises a lot of the mix so ambient sounds become very loud also.

All setting are 5.1 just pick the one that best matches your set up. "war tapes" is the least pure but if you like it then go for it.

Is it me or if your in a Rush game, apart from still getting really naff games where no one plays the game, if people leave, it cant seem to bring any new players in, spent the last 10 mins with just me alone and about 6 on the opposing team.

My one keeps resetting the loadout settings. Very annoying. I notice that the stats are wrong for the medics gun too but it seems to perform as it should in game :confused:

The pack was a really daft purchase for me. I went for the bundle and now have a gun I very rarely use in assault. A gun I hate in engineer and the other two are ok. So 420 points for 2 skins that I'll actually use. Lesson learned :p

Good explenation thanks for that. I tried it but I find it to "dramatic" it's too distorted and can barely here what's going on over the comm system. Think I am sticking with the TV setting it works best for me :)
 
Can anyone clearly summarise what I am missing by having bought a second hand copy of this where the VIP code has been used?
I can purchase another for 1200 points but having played some online and singleplayer, I don't seem to be missing anything?

Two maps for rush and two maps for conquest. Along with some extra guns.
 
Is it just me or do most people seem to find they are playing the same 2 or 3 maps over and over and over.

I don't like picking a map, rather just random and stay on the server for an hour or two but I swear I've only played 2 different maps in the past 4-5 hours of gaming!

This, the guns are not so much of a problem but when one of the maps pops up on the rotation you will be dumped back to the main menu.

Thanks. Haven't noticed being dumped out and lack of guns is not really a problem....not going to invest 1200 points in it then!
