*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Here's a quick question.

I got Battlefield on release, played it quite a bit and then went away for a few months and just started again now.

Have you always been able to damage M-COM stations rather than setting them to explode? I don't seem to remember being able to just destroy them.

I've noticed now that in some games, people aren't even attempting to get to them, instead just hiding as Recon and using Mortar Strikes on them.
 
Yeah, it was there in BC1, too. I notice a lot more people now taking the stealth approach and destroying crates with C4 before you even see them. :D

I myself like the suicide quad bike option - just load it up with C4, drive it next to the crate without getting shot, hop off and immediately detonate. Two good runs with the bike and the crate is gone.

Personally I think the C4 option ruins the fun. It is way too easy to just run in and slap a load of C4 and BOOM its gone in seconds.

It is but that just means your team is a bunch of idiots. :D You should be covering those M-COM stations at all times, easier said than done, I know. But I've seen plenty of games where people just go forward trying to kill the enemies as they approach but this allows some to sneak in round the back. And then you've had it as no one is defending!

Yeah I have not been blessed with the most tactical of team mates lately. :D

It seems like I get teamed up with rambos kids or sniper whores, or both if i'm unlucky.

I dont mind the odd sniper as they can be very useful. Its when you join and everyone in your squad are sniping and very poorly at that which annoys me.

I would like to see a limit so only X amount of people could be sniper in a squad. Would make the game better in my eyes.
 
Yeah, that's not a bad idea. A bit like in Aliens vs Predator where there can only be two predators, four aliens, four marines, etc. you could make it the same - three of each class allowed max on each 12-player side.

Onslaught seems a little expensive to me. Seems like it should have been included anyway or at least something a little cheaper. Would be interested in knowing what you think of it though. Worth the money?

Below this on the VIP lounge is three map packs, am I to download these too? Or do they fall under the multiplayer update 2?

It's quite entertaining, was playing it with a mate last night (so just two of us). Does get very hectic. I would expect they'll keep adding to it (would hope so considering the price), because the same few maps over and over will get a bit tiresome after a short while.
 
Well just had an hour playing onslaught and this is what I think :)

So its 800 MS points to buy, that's £6.80 really money. Had to buy 1000 MS points though, that cost me £8.50 (what can i buy with the spare 200 points lol )

4 maps base on ones you know but in different day time settings, with easy, medium, hard, hardcore.

On easy its really "easy" blasted through all 4 in around 7 mins each :p ( 40 easy gamer points)

On each map you start at your base and have to push through taking each flag, A, B, C etc. Once you have secured a flag you can move on and the map opens up.

Hardcore is what it says, HARDCORE this is going to take skill to complete, the AI is very good and lethal. I was just playing with random players, think you really need people you know and chatting for this mode. 20 gamer points for each map on hardcore so 80 gamer points total.

I have always been able to get a full game so seems a fair few people have purchased.

One thing to note the points you rack up in onslaught do NOT count towards the ranking system like in the multilayer.

All the vehicle's are in there, choppers, tanks etc and the AI use them all. AI is a right pain in the chopper and always needs taking out to hold/secure a flag.

Is it worth £6.80 of my money, well i am enjoying it. Hardcore will be a good challenge. Its a nice change from the multilayer that i have clocked 90 hours on ! Once i have cracked hardcore though cant see myself going back.

If anyone buys it add me on xbox live for some hardcore action !

Think ill leave onslaught, ill pick up Vietnam instead if its not ridiculously priced.

Also playing SDM today and had 6 Squads, something todo with private squads.

Anyone had that before?
 
Experimented with the C4 as I have barely touched it and its lethal. Used the G3 and C4 and got a score of 7900(odd) on the scoreboard. Getting about 14500 on the score total with no 5000pt bonuses.

I must say it is nasty and as I need to do the C4 challenge I will be using it quite a lot for the next few days. :p
 
When you're on a map with the M-COM station inside a house, it's quite often possible to use Destruction 2.0 to get it by just planting C4 on the walls. 5-6 charges should be enough. That is most satisfying. :D
 
I occasionally use c4 when no one on my team is planting etc. Has anyone tried those tank mines? I reckon putting 6 or so then dashing a grenade or shooting it would do the trick!
