*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

ah ok, the editing didnt strike me as overly immense either, it was smooth but there wasnt anything that made me critically praise it.
Maybe im just hard to impress?

Maybe. Find me better editing then these 2 and you'll blow my head clean off :D does help a lot that I love the choice of music in all his stuff.

ill pass on that challenge, cant say watching kill videos and what not for games on youtube gets my rocks off :)

So why search for and watch the video I mentioned? :p

Its not a hobby of mine either - Just enjoyed a quick watch when someone else posted it. :)

Well, this is the 2nd game I have ever pre-ordered, both times from Amazon.

First time with ME2, just went for free delivery and arrived week after release.

Now with this I decided to opt for paid postage so that I got it on release, and it's still saying waiting to dispatch.

If I don't get this tomorrow it will be the last time I ever use Amazon for pre-orders.

What's yours saying as the delivery estimate?

Snipers haven't been tooo bad to be honest on the servers that I've been playing so far. Most people are actually playing as a team:eek: Most of the time...

Game play is just as fast as the demo, the hit reg is great, I've had no moments of "WTH!!!" so far, if you know what I mean.

Graphics are great, but tbh the game would still be great with dull lifeless graphics. This is what I've needed since leaving PC gaming behind a couple of years ago.

That's really good to hear mate.

So graphics the same as the demo?

Sensitivity & stick handling the same as the demo? (acceleration curve ect)

How does the spotting system feel now?

What's the new damage like in core? they added 25% increase since the demo

How does the balance feel with all the extra equipment flying around?

Sorry for all the questions.:o

1- I think they may beslightly better, but tbh I haven't had time to look around, too busy running round:D

2- Ummm, feels the same to me. Im not great with a pad, feels ok though to me.

3- Not as easy to get spots now. Only get 2 at a time, and you have to be quite accurate.

4- One shot kills so far:D

5- Balance feels fine. The demo kitted you out with better kit than you start the game with, but the jet skis are great!

6- No probs mate.

Many thanks :)

Now go get some kills for me :D

ok, then i can confirm the No competitors version is NOT the limited edition version ;) O'well...

Everyone's probably sick of me saying it....but the LE is pretty pointless. Personally I like unlocking stuff myself....part of the fun of MP. If I had the LE though of course I'd put that code in :D

Mine's been dispatched and the email says estimated delivery of tomorrow now :)

Glad to here it! mines got the estimate of the 6th which is in keeping with the 1st class 1-2 days....although *touch wood* first class stuff normally takes just a day for me.

Great that amazon honoured that low price. I still dont think I'll use them again though unless the price difference is massive.

Put me down. Tag below my sig. I'm leaning towards getting this on the PS3, so I can dish the pain to my colleagues at work. :D

360 version here today from Amazon. Bargains

Sweet!

PSN is MrHabushi - feel free to add me, I'll be on there all day today. Forgive me if I don't accept right away though, I have those annoying notifications turned off so I'll have to remember to check myself.

Wooooooooooo Hooooooooo, loving single player atm :D

I do how ever, have a question...

What does the sound option "War Tapes" actually output and do? Sounds like it has a normalizer (not liking) but crisper sounds...

I have selected Home Cinema atm as well, I have a 5.1 home cinema sound system in my room lol.

But I am a audio buff so want the best sound wuality, so yea, what is "War Tapes" in the sound options?

ags

All the sound styles are 5.1, war tapes adds gain and distortion that mimic an overloaded mic thus it being called war tapes. As well as various filters. Loads of people seem to think its amazing and for those that have tried it the majority seem to love it.

I personally don't like it for standard play and see it as a bit of novelty, I find it pretty fatiguing over headphones as well.. I think its a good effect but I'd run whatever system you're using as you are.

All of the above is my humble opinion

Ahaaaaa! Cheers mate, so in short, it's a filter that boosts quality of the little things, loudens everything up, but overall, it's just a filter? I think I would rather have direct audio so will stick to 'Home Cinema' :)

ags

Yes. It makes the sound range very tight. Quite sounds like birds become very loud and the guns and stuff even louder. It add a touch of distortion to mimic mic overload and a big boost to the gain (volume). From a purist point of view its very heavily treated. By all means try it out and if you like it - you like it, but IMO the mix and dynamic range is so much better when you set it to what youre using.

Most people disagree with me on this and sound is a personal thing. But I think a lot of people just get wow'd by "wartapes" without a regard to sound quality. I.e "OMG that sounds so much louder and real" when in fact its partly simulating bad mic pick up.

There's bound to be someone on here with far more knowledge then me on good quality sound and I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about the differences, these are just my own findings though and really there's no right and wrong.

Hope that's of some small help :)
