*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

MW2 gameplay is a joke. The fact you can get 7 gun kills and then be on a 30 kill streak is a cr@p.

They should just do away with gun kills and everyone should ride around on chocolate horses beating each other with inflatable didlos - while simultaneously pulling bingo numbers out their arses to see what their next computer controlled death rampage will be.....Its pretty close to that already.

Downloaded and played this on the PS3 earlier and I have to say its awesome. I do have to say that the menu system and the weapon unlock/lack of customisation (I'm unaware if this will be the case in the full game) is a little bit of a backward step after playing MW2, but the awesome chaotic destruction of the area and game play more than make up for this.

I really do think this game beats MW2 into the ground, it feels a more pure and balanced game. This is not to detract from MW2 (which I love) however, the BF guys have pulled this one out of the bag.

Edit: I also miss the ability to lie down, or is it me being stupid and not finding the control?

There's no prone. Its due to balance and keeping the momentum of objective based games.

There's loads of weapon customising like sights etc and tons of different weapons to unlock and upgrade so you're well taken care of there.

Cheers mate, looks like this is a definite purchase :D

I have enjoyed this tonight on the PS3.

Couple of things I founds. After I turned my PS3 of and then back on some time later the controls that I had re-mapped had gone back to default.

Also the Knife killing. Great for one person, not so good if you are wanting to knife more than one very quickly, unlike bad company 1 where you could pull out the knife and keep slashing it around.

Also, I noticed some of the trees etc, were not positioned into the ground. Some of them were 'floating' if you will.

I do like it though. A bit of a fiddle with your thumps when you want to use Zoom and Select though to highlight enemies.

But as a Beta, very good I believe.

Glad that's not just me. And there seems to be some bug still that the "Y/triangle" button switches function with RB/R1! I tried to melee someone and I changed weapon instead resulting in my swift departure from the world. :D

Anyone else noticed that the attacking team win 9/10 times on this demo ?

Its a lot harder for the defending team to win, because the attackers have so much time in which to destroy each site.

Its about 50/50 for me. I keep the whole attacking team lit up though. Been on some great defending teams.

I used a Gold code for Live and looked at the demo for 360 - as far as I can see, the 360 and PS3 versions are pretty much identical except for dithering on trees and vegetation on the 360. They look and run the same. A few guys were saying earlier that the 360 version may have more anti-aliasing - it doesn't. They're both straight up 1280x720 with no AA, running at a cap of 30fps.

Lots of jaggies, but you stop noticing after a few minutes, because the gameplay is fantastic.

Was playing this with a mate this morning and chatting over Team speak, all you need is a medic and an engineer two man squad and you can defend pretty much any point, especially those in doors. I find that medic is definitely the best class, the ability to resuscitate and heal people, teamed with that LMG just means that pwnage ensues :D
