*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Today we’re happy to announce the release date of the second VIP map package for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! It will be made available on the 30th of March on all platforms at no extra cost to all of you who’ve got your VIP codes entered in the game. VIP Map Pack 2 contains the following:


Arica Harbor Conquest mode - US Command launches a break through action directly at the Russian base. Collateral damage is of no consequence. Capture and secure tactical positions in Conquest Mode across the vast Arica Harbor map.


Laguna Presa Rush mode - The valley and surrounding mountains possess a strategic value in the battle for South America, and an infantry assault supported by light armor vehicles is likely by both armies as US forces defend the nearby Dam.


Need the store to work first :p
 
Yeah also its not about giving us free stuff its about locking out content to people that have bought the game pre-owned. Content is there on the disk already, and the only reason we dont have it is so EA can make cash of the pre-owned market - while trying to look like they are giving us stuff....which we've basically already bought

I'm surpised they didnt say "Buy the BC2 box now for £40 and get the game disk inside completely for free!!!!!!" :D

Some new maps built from scratch and given a few months down the line would be nice - for free :)
 
I'm the other way round and love conquest, so getting some Rush maps in Conquest mode would be awsome.

I'll play either and if peeps arranged a game, I would have no problem with Rush, I think I just need to adjust my tactics.

However...... I do love that 4x Scope with the Pre-Order (AK something) for the Engineer. Who needs sniper class anyway!

I hope they do that, for all of Dice's talk about avoiding playerbase segmentation, they need to keep the maps free. If new weapons and specializations come at a cost, that's fine (well not really but you know what I mean) because the players can still enter the same match, thus avoiding the issue of not being able to enter any game at any time.
 
Guys does anyone know how to work out which EA Account a gamertag account is associated with? I've signed up but I have so many different 1-off email adresses I can't remember which one it is! :(
 
I got the garand yesterday when I got home which was a pleasant suprise. Only used it for a few mins then it was back to the M60. :D

I haven't tried it myself, but some dude had a G3 earlier on the opposing team, and he was tearing the place up with it. Is it a universal kit weapon, or engineer only?

It's a ridiculously effective weapon if you're good at aiming over distances with it - I always use it if I'm playing recon, engineer or medic. It's snappy, powerful and the sounds are just gorgeous. It's so satisfying hearing the clunk ping that follows with each shot. BANG *ping*
 
can someone explain the online bit when you see different coloured markers above people is that to do with if there a medic etc

yes i'm a noob :)

Green markers indicate other members of your squad - lighting bolt is assault, cross is medic, crosshairs is sniper and spanner is engineer. Blue triangles are other members on your side but not in your squad. Orange triangles are the baddies! Orange chevron is enemy UAV, blue chevron is yours. Tank icons speak for themselves.
