Anyone else dissapointed in Conquest mode? Someone else said it on the ea forum and i agree, it just doesn't seem like the mode we're used to. Some of the maps are pretty bad for it, Atcama desert being nothing but a straight line for example, couple that with your main spawn being overrun with noobs looking for cheap kills. :(

Seems at the minute rush is the preferred mode which sort of reinforces the fact that conquest seems to have something wrong with it in this game.
 
Way too many sniper friendly maps imo.Fun being a sniper though I guess, but I get very discouraged trying to do objectives when there's 5 snipers pointed at chokepoints so I just snipe back mostly.

When everyones used to the maps will be much better hopefully.

I can agree on this to a point, in certain games now, ie the bf series, cod series. People seem to love sniping. I remember playing the old novalogic delta force/joint operation games, sniping in those games was far better, you had to get into position, go prone and take a shot from long range, i used to enjoy playing jo with a mate, one of us would spot for the other who was doing the shooting, then swap around. Even when playing by myself on jo, a 1000 metre crawl to get in for a single shot at a target felt like an achievement for me, or swimming out to sea and planting a satchel charge in the path of an oncoming apc, or doing he same on a roadside.
 
Yea I played joint ops the sniping was cool the distances you could snipe from was hilarious not to mention the immense bullet dip.
Simple fix would be have to crouch to get a steady enough aim and just make the scope more unsteady in general, so you really have to work for a sniper kill.

Believe it or not, jo was prety accurate in its depiction of sniping, i do a bit of long range target shooting myself, bullet drop at long range in the game wasnt too far away

im on a 4ghz 17 920 with an 8800gt, absolutely dire, i had a gtx 280, it died, sent it off for rma, after a lot of haggling i got a gtx 275, installed it, it died the next day, still waiting on a new card.

Turn the settings down? :confused:

Just finished the single player at 5760x1200, max settings, 2x aa. (i7,6gb,5870) I loved it, a fair bit of rinse and repeat but the environments and dialogue made up for it.

rpg's became pretty damn annoying after a while though. :p

I assume the single player leads onto the multiplayer?
 
Is anyone else getting this from Steam ? I can't even play single player for some reason .

Wow. Full Retail is definately sorted. Runs a hell of a lot better, and the bullet reg is definately better. It's now possible to be a front line sniper as bullets actually hit their mark.
 
just had the best 2 hours of gaming in my entire life :)

my first pc was the zx81 in 1982;) followed by atari 400 then 800 then 600xl then 800xl then 130xe then 520st etc etc

Best comment ive heard yet on this game, referring to the m60

Using it with the lmg specialization turns you into some combination of rambo and jesus as you mow down everyone on the other team while resurrecting your teammates.

Just got online for a quick blast, no probs getting into a game, fantastic, now i just need a decent graphics card to do it justice, i can see myself losing a lot of time to this game.
