Has anyone used Hypnotise to befriend Splicers? On obtaining the second plasmid, they still seem to be my foe after receiving a dose? Am I doing something wrong?

Just completed this, thoughts below:

+More of the same, which is a good thing
+Gathering Adam gives some nice defense fights in different surroundings, some much more defensible than others. For some reason I found the one in the Pink Pearl (first floor?) the hardest but there was nothing particularly remarkable about the setup
+Low ammo capacities forces you to switch weapons quite a bit, I tended to favour the machinegun and shotgun
+Dual-wielding makes breaking out the plasmids much less of a chore
+Sophia Lamb is a good character that by the end of the game you start to empathise with to some extent in terms of realising that she fundamentally believes what she is doing is right
+A nice world to play around in, good atmosphere
+Very good performance, a solid 120fps
+Fairly big levels, not many of them but the game took me about 10hrs I think (Steam says 12hrs but I think I may have left it paused for a while)

-Too easy on Medium difficulty, especially with Vita-Chambers enabled by default. I think it could have been improved by enforcing some sort of penalty for dying, perhaps losing 10% of your cash, or 10% of the next batch of Adam you harvest, something like that. Can't be too harsh here because you can turn VCs off if you want.
-Not enough boss fights, like Evangelion I had stockpiled a massive armory in anticipation of something a bit tougher than a Big Sister, but never got to fire a single heatseeking rocket or frag grenade :(
-Wallet is far too small, basically I found that once my bank hit around 550 it was best to go and spend around 50-100 credits to try and keep below the 600 limit before you found the next vending machine. Could have been aleviated by have slightly fewer drops I feel, I remember in Bioshock finding ammo quite hard to come by in the early part of the game forcing you to use plasmids more, whereas here ammo (or the cash to buy it) is plentiful.
-Feels like it could have done with more NPCs
-Storyline doesn't feel as strong as BS
-You feel far too vulnerable for a Big Daddy in the sense that your health gets chipped away really quick even with maxed out Health Upgrades and the armour tonic thing (not a problem due to First Aid kits, but still a bit weird considering you are supposed to be a double-hard *******)

Not really a good or bad point but personally I found that I still didn't use plasmids much, Security Command 3 was probably the main one but even then most of the time I just repaired my bots before they got destroyed.
