*** Official BioShock 2 Thread ***

Just had a quick play on it and I like it.

Slight spoiler below for anyone who has kept up to date with theressomethinginthesea.com:-

Nice to find a tape from Mark Meltzer, good to know he did make it to Rapture. Interested to see where he ends up.

Never managed to finish the first one, that was something about it that I really didnt like, not the game itself, but the way it made me feel while I was playing it, or something, I dunno.

Anyway, is this one more of the same, and would it be worth suffering through the first before giving it a go?

Basically, **** it im staying up all night and playing this ;D roll on midnight.

No! now I'm going to have to do that too. I've got a meeting tomorrow morning, they're going to think I was out drinking again. I thought everyone hated Bioshock (and to this day I honestly cannot see why) apart from me. Second best game ever. I'm excited.

Friend of mine cant sign into Live to play this. Keeps saying theres a network error and either Live is down or his network needs to be fiddled with. Just spent ages fiddling with ports, putting his computer into a DMZ, disabling firewalls, the works....... nothing works. Uninstalled GFW Live and reinstalled, no dice. Any clues ?

That's because you use a key on your mouse.

Dunno about the poster you replied to, but my "help" thingy told me to use E and F for hacking. Mouse clicking seems to work in the end but I have noticed the game doesn't like people who have changed key mappings.

Well if anyone is interested, i finnally got the hack tool working. It didnt like its controls been changed so to use it i have to have the hack controls at default.
edit:
Also xpadder works perfectly with this game if anyone feels that way inclined.

I've decided to lower the difficulty to EASY because anything higher and you end up being made mince meat out of by random splicers with pistols which rather sucks the fun out of being a diving suit wearing behemoth with a gun the size of the people you are fighting.

Have to say it's made the game more enjoyable now I don't have to duck and cover from every attack and constantly run away from everything because I'm out of health/eve/ammo.

Game still lacks any real atmosphere though.

Anyone else getting really bad tearing? I've got vsync on but it doesn't seem to make much difference, its really distracting :(.

GFX card is a GTX280.

Really enjoying the game so far, yeah it's more of the same but I got a big kick out of the first Bioshock so more of the same is no bad thing.

There are a few things which are annoying me though, for example, the train rides. I want to take a train ride around Rapture, not look at a black screen :(

Also, whenever I do die I get kicked to the main menu and have to reload the level again, bloody annoying, so much so that I've re-enabled the vita-chambers instead of having to put up with the long load times.

Just got to Dionysus Park, god this game is BEASTLY.

Enjoying the hell out of it now, things are really getting going. The gameplay is ridiculous fun.

Going to put it down for tonight though!

Nonsense, playing it on hard atm, sure it's tough but aslong as you tool up before you go to gather adam or something you'll find it a breeze. Always make sure you have spare ammo for any massive splicer jumps etc.

getting some graphic corruption with crossfired 5770's with the 10.1 hotfix driver , any sign of a driver for this game ?

Same, I just disabled crossfire. One 5770 is plenty for this game even at 1920x1200

wow, ive been through every key on my keyboard and the hacking tool still wont work.
Do mean, which button do you press to stop the needle? Its the fire button!

I noticed a bug earlier, the game allows you to use the same button for 2 different controls which caused me some problems, maybe you've done something similar?

Got vsync enabled in both CCC and the game and i have no tearing.
