BioShock 2 is the sequel to BioShock, and is designed to continue the grand storyline of the underwater metropolis, Rapture. It is scheduled for release February 9, 2010. BioShock 2 will capitalize and improve upon the high-quality effects, unique gameplay elements, and immersive atmosphere that defined the first game. It has been confirmed that Irrational Games is not developing the game. Instead, 2K Marin is the developing team. Initially, a spokesperson for 2K Games[2] stated that the "Sea of Dreams" subtitle had been dropped. It was revealed that the subtitle was simply the title of the first teaser trailer, and not a subtitle for the game

PLOT
Set on New Year's Eve of 1970, ten years after the events of BioShock,[15] Rapture is now under the control of a woman named Sofia Lamb, whose ideas of human progression contrasts with the city's deceased founder, Andrew Ryan. While Ryan believed in the genius of the individual, Lamb believes in collective effort and the power of the community, as well as a philosophy surrounding butterfly imagery, indicating some kind of rebirth. This message is spread by a deranged ex-priest named Father Wales, who has created a cult-like religion around Sofia. During Sofia's rule, a mysterious figure known as the Big Sister, an ex-little sister outfitted with Big Daddy armour, harboured herself in Rapture, capturing little girls across the coastline to turn them into Little Sisters. Now, the original Big Sister has disappeared, and the remaining Big Sisters are employed by Sofia to keep order in the city.

Been playing through the first game again ahead of this and just finished Fort Frolic, best level on the game without a doubt. Great news that the team behind that level are in charge of the entire BS2 :)
 
After playing through the first one for the second time at the moment I totally agree about the old hacking system, it's such a bore!

Much prefer the new system, and the ability to do long range hacks :)

Only 8 days till release!

I agree, after the success of the first ones CE I cant believe they didn't do one with a die cast Big Sister :(

There's just nothing apart from the Art Book and the Box itself that appeals to me about this CE and seeing as the Rapture Edition can be had for the same price as the regular version and that includes the Art Book I was never going to stump up the £60 (especially as I'm getting the Hunter edition of AvP and that's also £60)
 
Not happy about Zavvi dropping the price after they've dispatched my copy, poor show :mad:
 
Anyone got their copy yet?

I've got mine coming to my work address and we've had our deliveries for today so it's not looking like I'll get mine until Monday at the earliest :(
 
Got my copy coming to my work address so I'll never know if they even tried to deliver it today because no bugger was there :(

My copy just landed! :D

As I suspected the Art book that comes with the Rapture Edition looks to be a slimmed down version as oppose to the one that comes in the SE
 
Brilliant game, the combination of Electro Shocking a splicer then nailing them with the your drill is just never going to get old

Graphically everything looks a little more gritty but it's nice how many throw backs there are to the Rapture of BioShock 1

I didn't want to stop for dinner this game is so good :p

I found that as well, much better that though than being able to stock up on Eve and Health right from the get go

I'm sure the evolution of getting your arse kicked by the Big Sister/Sofia Lamb right at the beginning to getting your own back later in the game will be hugely satisfying :D

Really wish I wasn't stuck at work so I could follow on from where I left off last night :(

Just as well considering the amount of Med Kits you need to buy, especially after a Big Daddy/Sister fight :eek:
